The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced Monday night that a fourth law enforcement officer, Joshua Eyer, has died after a shootout in Charlotte, North Carolina on Monday. Police were serving a warrant at a home on Galway Drive for a felon wanted for possessing a firearm. Several other officers were injured.
The three officers initially killed were serving together on a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Four CMPD officers were also shot.

Something is not right about this story. The guy you are looking for is the first one killed and he was killed outside the home. Then you have a shoot-out with a 17-year-old and a woman. No warrants or injuries were mentioned on the women or the teenager who managed to take out four police officers in two hours with one gun. There is a story behind this story, but this is not the whole story, and we may never know the full story.

39 yr old Terry Clark Hughes, Jr ( now deceased from his injuries) had 49 prior criminal charges since 2001 and served time in prison in Mecklenburg County. All kinds of recent charges that were dropped just in the last month, but is a felon from prior. Manufacturing drugs and drug possession charges etc.

Why didn't the department release the video AFTER that particular cop was found not guilty. It's incidents like that that goes unpunished are why I don't feel bad when LEO suffer the same things from criminals that they put innocent people through. The only difference between the cops and criminals is cops can get away with murder.

Something is wrong here…and I’m talking about this story. They shot the guy they were there for on the front lawn. Of course, at this point, they’re insisting that the “felon” shot first…ok, fine. Now, what about the 17 year old in the house along with the “woman”? Did some SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD take out 4 officers/marshals while they were continuing to attempt entry into the house or was it the woman??? There’s a lot more to this story.

My husband is a trucker and got stuck on this road today while at work. Im so so thankful he made it home safe from work today. Seeing our kids run to him and say daddyyyy when he got home overwhelmed me with relief....however equally heartbroken that wives and kids of these men did not experience this, as they did not make it home safe from work today 💔 this was 10 min down from our house. Infuriating that ppl who do this don't think of others! Pure evil! And the judges in charlotte keep giving repeat felons 8,9,10 chances and slaps on the wrist! This city does not feel safe and hasn't for awhile! Hopefully this is a wake up call that things need to change!

The loss of life is tragic and heartbreaking. We are not, however, seeing the details of the shooting that initially sparked the incident. Was the "felon in possession " wanted on any warrants other than possession of a firearm? Was the felony that made him a 'prohibited person' a violent crime? What are the circumstances of his shooting? Absent those details we are left to speculate as to whether this entire incident was caused by an over-zealous ATF officer engaged in yet another sketchy behavior (there have been several lately) where they needlessly shot someone. Or was this a justifiable initial shooting? The ATF should no longer get the benefit of the doubt. Let's hear the details of the initial incident that sparked this tragedy that escallated so quickly to cost other officers their lives.
