What I love about outback Australia is the fact that you can have a waterhole with growing trees, but 2.0 meters out of the hole is so dry, thru lack of water, that the trees are dying.

Ronny as always you've provided great entertainment on a Sunday night (in lockdown). I had no idea the Pilbara was so spectacular. Awesome job. Ignore the negative comment (as you do anyways) at the start. You guys are the best on the web hands down. This footage was up there with your drone shots of your Simpson crossing. Top job. Keep it up!

reminds me of the old Budh Tucker Man series when he drives into the western part of the Territory for his Wet Season camp. Ive seen that country in the dry and I am really glad you guys have shown it to us in the wet. Love the concept! Could be a whole new thing for you guys?? "You've seen it in the dry but now you get to see it in the Wet too". Brilliant.

Perhaps I missed it, but could I further trouble you to post the link to the research and logistical discussion/video you mentioned at the end of this video for planning this sort of adventure?

What a terrific series! I love the Pilbara more than any other region in W.A. Wasn't quite sure about the music selection here and there but that is hardly a big deal. One day I will have to add up how long we have stayed up in the Pilbara over the last 20 or so years. It must be in excess of 2 years at least. I really do hope we get to go back in the not too distant future.

"Driving in after 35's might be an isue" Ya think. So many tracks trashed by 35's 'tearing it up'. Last time I visited the Holland I was amazed at how torn up it had become. That said, its as much as how you drive them than anything else.
@tylerdubois9020
@tylerdubois9020 3 жыл бұрын
In the US, what use to be trails that vehicles with 31" tires could go through are getting more difficult with people running 37", 40", and even larger tires. I get the need for larger tires when rock crawling, but for the rest of the terrain they create huge ruts that now 33" tires struggle and 35" tires seem small. It sucks for us budget folks who can't afford to put huge lifts, regear axles with truss and chromoly axleshafts and so on.
@technopsychobedlam
@technopsychobedlam 3 жыл бұрын
@@tylerdubois9020 Agree that for the harder rockcrawling people will need bigger setups...but people who aren't doing anything like that set their vehicles up that way too. Not great to drive drive day to day. A big setup isn't only what causes the big ruts though - that is as much driving style as anything else. I notice Torbs, for instance, turns into a frightened teen whose only approach is full send if he sees water or a big bump :-) Funny hearing Ronny complain when he has to follow him.
@tylerdubois9020
@tylerdubois9020 3 жыл бұрын
@@technopsychobedlam True. And what happens when you combine bad drivers with oversized tires? Huge ruts haha. Also, overlanding is becoming more popular here in the US, where people stack so much shit into their rigs it weighs over 6k lbs. That also causes a lot of problems.

@tylerdubois9020
@tylerdubois9020 3 жыл бұрын
@@Malc664 It is really. My 'budget build' is at around $7k for cost of vehicle, auto lockers, lift, tires, etc. But I did all the installs myself. Its becoming a upper-middle class sport. There are still those folks who go out and have fun on the cheap, but even on the roads I see Jeep Wranglers that cost around $40k easily. People would rather spend the money and have someone else do all the work, then go take their videos and images for social media, instead of enjoying the moment and the effort/work to build your vehicle.

Ronny, have you made a "how-to water crossing" video? You mentioned "pressuring the cab with the air-conditioning", which I had never heard of. Also, are there additional tips other than diff/trans breathers and snorkels? My first thought is the fuse box, alternator, ECU, and such and how these might be affected, or what you can do to prevent/mitigate damage. Another thought is aftermarket devices (Spods/switch pros/compressors (air bag, lockers, tires)) and how these could be affected should deep water be necessary/unavoidable. Speaking of snorkels, don't these have to be properly sealed? At any rate, seems quite a bit of material that would make for an excellent video. Thanks for all of your great content Ronny.
