Thanks for this! You saved me $329 (quote from dealer) on my 2007 Lincoln Navigator. I changed it myself, thanks to your easy instructions, and it only took me 20 minutes. It even took me longer than necessary, because I had to figure out how to get my big hands into the tight space where it connects to the heater core at the firewall. My cost: $37 plus shipping $7 for an ACDelco hose assembly. Thanks again!

Thank you so much! Great video! I was going to go that same route fro my 08 - same issue - the T connector was leaking and became brittle. But I decided to to just replace the T with 1 inch PEX - and it worked fine!

Very helpful video my friend, much appreciated. I was about to go get those special plastic tools but no need. I would add that you should specify that you need to catch and pinch the ends of those tabs then pull the hose and it comes right off. During my experience, the tabs came off and I ended up having to break them off but all's good! Thanks again!

Quick note for everyone, never use those plumbing "worm drive" screw-in clamps. They all leak after a year or two as the rubber softens or deteriorates, and they start to leak, or you can over tighten them and you can break the connection especially when use on plastic connections. You need to install those Spring or "constant-tension" hose clamps the way they originally had them.

I found a way to remove the heater hose from the firewall with one hand. The end of the hose can be rotated. So with index finger find one of the tabs and press it in. Rotate the hose 180 degrees with the same hand. Press on the other tab with the index finger. Pull the hose off the firewall. I had to work it a couple of times. Rotating the hose end either clockwise or counterclockwise was best based on ability to move my hand, but I can't remember which one was better. Try both directions to see what works best. Remove the plastic tab after the hose is pulled.

I think mine is the same problem. I have an o6 and that T-connector keeps showing small signs of leakage every time i run the engine. I also have coolant in the first 2 spark plug wells on the top. Whats crazy is i thought i blew a head gasket. Why? Because i always assume the worst. Do you think that 3way T is leaking based off what im telling you? Couple weeks ago I noticed my coolant had gone a tiny bit low but normally there would be a puddle or something under the vehicle

I had to work at it to get my two hands in there, but, standing on a stool to the side of the engine compartment, I worked my left hand in to pinch the tabs and gently twisted the hose extension off (still had the original configuration with a short extension connected to heater core at the firewall. There was nothing wrong with the extension, by the way. Why doesn't Ford or aftermarket co.'s make the shorter version available that just connects to the extension? It would have made it too easy I guess.
