100% Froff! I’m riding longer, more often because my health concerns don’t hold me back anymore, and my progression has been fast fast fast. To add to the list, No.6 emtb is the best fun ever! My bike makes me feel like a kid again😊

Spot on Froff, my wife and I traded up to ebikes a year ago, now we ride more often, way further and honestly the rougher wilder trails are easier and so much more fun, my wife who hated the climbs before now looks forward to a good climbing trail. I'm 54 and relatively new to MTBing, I did ride dirt bikes for a lot of my life but gave them away a few years ago fearing injury etc Our e-bikes have got us out and about again and we regularly see older couples out riding together as well enjoying trails that would be out of range for them and us on acoustic bikes. I also occasionally ride with a couple of very fit long time mountain bikers who I'd never be able to ride with if it wasn't for my E-bike. Maca

Great vid mate! I've been riding my EMTB a fair bit more lately and I found I'm still burning close to the same amount of calories and my heart rate still gets up there! I think the main thing I noticed is that you don't get that build-up of lactic acid on the climbs like a normal bike. On the descents, it's really no different. A big perk is I'm riding more now so I'm actually getting fitter 🙃 - Phil

Great video man. Ebikes are pretty cool. One more reason I find is that you are still fresh for the downhill section and less likely to muck up due to fatigue.

6. Heart Rate Control, at least on the up. I had a heart attack in October, i was on the eebs a month later doing gentle rides using the gears and trail/boost to keep my heart rate down. Even now I'm not supposed to get in to the 160's... Eh... stupid downhills.. why you make my heart hit 170+ :D

This is so true. My mate got me into this by ending me his eBike. I fell in love and ride as I live in regional Vic. If it was an acoustic I couldn’t do it.

Yeah nice one Froff. Love my ebike. I find I use it most when I'm going for solo rides and exploring a bit more. And you can still get fit on them, just don't ride it in boost all the time.

Most riders just get it chipped, so they're unlimited. Never been checked once in 6 years of riding ebikes.

@DM MTB the motors are tough as nails you want have any troubles. Even if you do just unchip it and send it back and it ll be still in warranty.

The truth is that very rarely you need to be going uphill at more than 25km. If you are going downhill no motor required. Uphill, normally under 25km. When I got my ebike I through I would need to get it chipped but the amount of time you are trying to go up a hill at more than 25km is pretty low. Just get one man. You will wonder why you waited so long. Cheers

@@johnj8471 I’ve demoed a few late last year and it’s the down that I’m worried about. Sure if it’s steep enough it’s fine but in less steep down trails the motor cuts out before hitting a jump or similar and that’s what puts me off. The low Centre of gravity is awesome and planted on the trails and it’s more stable in the air … I get that but the motor cutting out at 25km is an issue for me. And I’d just put down on a new analog before I’d ridden an ebike so I may reconsider in another few years.

@thefloydtube If you want to keep fit mate you should get yourself a dirt bike and do some hard enduro, they have a great big petrol engine on them and yet there LOT harder than pedaling a cross country mountain bike.

Spot on Froff! Only recently started mtb at 60 on an e-bike. My fitness has improved immensely and was able to lose 10kg when nothing else worked. Am now able to ride 30-40 kms easily. Not as fast as the young guns but love the adrenaline rush and conquering the more challenging trails. E-bikes are making mtb accessible for many people that perhaps would not otherwise give it a go.
