Dupree Trickshots, thanks a bunch for all that you upload you're a great help... I've been playing pool for 3 sessions now and I just found your channel like a month ago... Since I have been watching your video's my game has improved immensely... Keep on shooting and teaching... I went and shot on my APA League tonight and got my first ever Rackless night because I have paid close attention and you're help paid off!

The part of the video that I found most informative was the right and left spin shots. This is more advanced english. I'm a little further along than newbies and found that very helpful. I've been playing all my life and have all but mastered pool except for side english shots. Thank you
@backpropalgo5 ай бұрын
if you have all but mastered pool, then you would be in tournaments raking in the bucks or doing money games... not trying to discourage but realize that the ones that are really good learn the rest by doing just that

Hi mate, love your channel and work. I would like to request a video explaining how side spin works, rather than when to use it. I guess as an amateur, explaing spin first would be much more helpful to me and other amateurs starting their game. Thankyou very much.

I do enjoy your videos, and learn from them. I am a teacher, however, not of pool. There are laws of learning that effect the student, no matter what the subject. The law of primacy, those things learned first are what will come back to your memory first. The law of recency, those things that the the most recently learned will tend to come to your memory first. With just these two laws of learning, I would suggest to you to teach the proper shot first in your demonstrations and again the last of your demonstrations. That way it is much easier to recall the proper shot. If you show the wrong shot at the beginning and end of a demonstration, you confuse the brain and make it much harder to recall the proper shot for the situation. FYI.

Hi just wanted to ask how do you know weather to use top or middle with your side spin ? Thank you for the lesson

Love watching these videos more then the "trick shot" videos these are not really practical " for me". I really like watching these basic skills videos, good for tweaking somebody's game. I know when I start shooting inconsistent I gotta go back to the basics and start over. Find my mistakes Good videos

I never knew how much went into pool not even just getting you ball in but thinking 3 balls ahead where you want the q to stop and how to set up the next shot. I’m a novice I play the ball in front of me and that ball only lol.

I have Championship Invitational from Teflon, I find it it nearly impossible to do a proper draw shot. What kind of material is your cloth?
@04nimmot7 жыл бұрын
probably a dumb question, but when you are putting left or right english on the cue should the cue be straight on the shooting line (so basically like a stun shot with the cue moved to the side) or should the cue be in a centre position angled to the side aiming at the 3? Hope this makes sense
@7ushd Жыл бұрын
Depends on the shot that your planning to make..😭I'm very late but still

Looks like you have a few friction burns on that cloth. Simonis 860 HR is heat resistant.

Hie when I try to get a spin I keep mis cueing any ideas . I can get the top spin but back spin every time it’s either mis cue or ball jumping but no back spin
@d4ve193 жыл бұрын
Be aware of the back of your cue, keep it as low (flat to the table) as possible. Keep practicing and see where you need to strike the cue ball, you are likely hitting a little too low if the ball is jumping.

Dupree, When you use Left or Right English, do you line up your feet, body, & cue stick as if you're going to hit Center, and then point the Cue to the Left or Right? ... OR Do you set your feet, body, and whole cute stick a cm to the Left or Right, and then hit the Cue ball straight through at that new aligned place? Do you understand what I'm trying to ask? Thank YOU!

thats what i wanted to know too
@brianbarstead18915 жыл бұрын
This is a very good question and deserves a reply - I.e., the concept of setting up the shot line with “built in” English, or setting up the shot using cue ball centre, then pivoting to the desired english. This opens up a whole new conversation about when to use these different methods.
@bencrossley6473 жыл бұрын
- UK county standard player. I line straight up into the shot. I don't adjust my cue after setting up.

Curious, what set of balls is that? Cuetec? How do you like them? They aren't phenolic, correct
@devinbrita37705 жыл бұрын
I may sound really stupid asking this, but how do you prevent the ball from popping up when hitting the cue ball so low? Every time I try to go for a stop or some backspin, I end up hitting the ball up in the air and getting no spin at all!
@Noneofyourbussiness885 жыл бұрын
Ill help you with that. If you hit stun shot or draw shot first you have to make sure to chalk up your cue so it will not slip when you hit the cue ball this is the most important one, because if you have chalked up your cue stick nicely its almost impossible your cue ball will jump. And second one make sure you have a good, steady bridge. The third one make sure your follow up is correct and not gripping the cue very hard. And the last one make sure you hit the ball with confidence and not afraid to shot. Hopefully its helping you mate🙏

Great video. However you might confuse people when you talk about left spin and right spin. When you hit the right side of the ball, that creates a left spin. And when you hit the left side of the ball you create a right spin. So in you video you actually have those mixed up. You should say right side hit or left side hit.

Good advice. To improve your videos, you should put the names of the different spins and the time in the video you talk about them so it's easier for people to find. It would also be nice if you put the name of the spin you are talking about on the screen so it's just easier to find in this long video
