Can somebody explain to me why they ranked the first ram that they showed us which has much better timings than the one in the first spot. Am I missing something was this not supposed to be in any specific order because the timing is on that one seem far better than any of the other ones.

Because the ram in place one has the highest bandwidth by far, most laptop ram is 2400mhz or 2666mhz but that vengeance kit was 3800mhz, timings aren't everything

My MSI gv 62 7RD has a 2400 8GB Hynix RAM I was planning to include one more 8 GB but, 3200Mhz of Vengeance or Fury (I know it'll only run till 2400 but, I want to be future proof with the extra RAM I am buying & there's not a lot of difference in price between both ) , let me know if this approach is good.

Which ram should i go for with TUF F15 has I7-12700H with DDR4 Ram slots and RTX4060. Note the ASUS TUF Laptops dont have XMP or option to overclock ram, which one shall i buy for jedec standards 3200mhz? I assume its maximum capacity is 64gb of ddr5, which can be achieved by having 2 stick of 32gb ram. but i can't really confirm this, that spec sheet of 64gb ddr5 is so uncommon, you might want to consult to the OEM about this

u didn't mentioned about the CL timming effects, the lower the better. And Many laptopsnowadays have BIOS lock (i.e not able to enable XMP or DOCP profiles).

I hope you can help me. I travel a lot for fun. Have small laptop I take with me. Max Ram 8GB 204pin, it will work with an 1866Mhz module, And I know DDR3L is he best for low heat. But no one seems to answer this question on this type of RAM. What is the best, most dependable and even fastest ram available for my laptop at 1866MHZ? been looking so long for an answer. The best thing you can do is get RAM compatible with your laptop. This way you will get the best performance with minimal problems. Let's say you have a Corsair 1866MHz RAM currently on your laptop, now if you choose to increase it, get a second one with the same specs and you will be all set. As for the heat, it completely depends on your laptop and how well it manages to control it. If your laptop often heats up, you might wanna get a cooling pad for it, some are really portable and will be of help when you travel.

I had the so called bad ram that came with my legion 7i. Changed it to the so called best ram fury impact. I hardly noticed any difference in gaming, and any benchmarks. I think if you have a 16gb modern ram, you're pretty much set for good.

Too many factors like when you bought it and what's the ram spec on it. Nowadays they have single rank 3200mhz cl22. Upgrading to same speed dual rank would yield noticeable gain in some games and changing it out for say a 3200mhz cl20 would gain about 10% fps gain in benchmarks. It gets really complicated when you start getting into the nitty gritty like you'd think 3200mhz is just inherently faster than 2666mhz but 3200 cl22 (usually stock speed) is around 11% slower than the 2666mhz cl15 stick

@@faded.0913 fury is 3200mhz cl20 stock. My old ram was x16, and the new one is x8, so should be "significantly" faster. But cinebench does not test ram latency I guess, and I don't play my games with an fps counter on. So I didn't notice any difference. I would have if I was a competitive gamer I guess.

@@LeFatalpotato you are correct cinebench is a cpu stress test so it won't benefit from more or faster ram like rendering and load times would. I don't know how long ago you got it but most laptops nowadays are shipping with cheaper slower often single rank memory "due to shortages". I got the Lenovo legion 5 sitting under the tree so I don't know what that one specially has yet but I actually discovered this rabbit hole because of the legion 5 having sub par ram now

@@faded.0913 I got my 7i in late July, and didn't want to get stuck with a 16gb ram, so purchased the new kit, and noticed the old ones were x16. As long as they come with swappable ram, I don't care if they're the bad stuff. Just paid 140$ for 2x16gb x8 3200mhz ram with 20-22-22 timings. I guess it's suboptimal for desktop but this was the best jedec ram I could find in the market, because of lenovos stupid bios not allowing xmp. I recommend it if you're on the market for better ram.

the volts need to be the same as ur laptop supports. there are mainboards with the 1,2 volt ram and there u cant put ram that needs more volts since the mainboard can output only 1,2 volts

If you go for RAM with a higher clock speed than your current RAM, it won't be compatible and you will get 3200MHz max. It is advised to choose the same ram for optimal performance.

It's okay, for normal use should be fine. Ram should be same speed. Ex 2666mhz c18 on both sticks. Ideally it should be the same size. So 2x4gb or 2x8gb etc. For the best performance it's reccomedned to buy as a set. Even buying the same brand as two individual sticks won't be paired as well as a package that has both sticks included. Over all best performance buy and replace all ram. For budget but still excaptabe match sticks so they have the same specs. Hope this helps.

It's best to play on charger since your gpu and cpu require extra power. But I'm pretty sure it depends on your battery size it'll matter

Why y'all only focusing on "gaming" when I didn't even mention that? 🤦♂️🤦♂️ "Good performance" *is not* just all about gaming smh kids. Even the video title itself didn't even have any "gaming" gimmicks on it.

Depends on your preference. For gaming, Hyper X and Corsair is amazing.

Need more info. Is your laptop Intel or Ryzen? That being said, go for the highest clock speed and lowest CAS latency for optimal performance.

@@rainqueens1731 Go for the Teamgroup Elite 32GB, since you are getting double the capacity for the same price. Clock speed and frequency are quite good too.

Well….😂😂😂….I’ve bought the Corsair Vengeance, 2x16gb…….And NO!!! They are not the best!!!!! After couple years, they started giving me huge Restarting or Freezing issues on my Laptop!!!!!! And I’m not a heavy user! I’m not playing games on my laptop. I just use it for making music. Anyway, whatever you do, Please do not buy them!!!!!!!

If you mostly game on it, we recommend the Corsair Vengeance. Be sure to verify the clock speed and CL timing.
