the Switchback R&S Off Road Camper Trailer could do with dual tandem wheels & a bit longer in size ask well!!! as for the RASV Off Road Camper Trailer it seriously needs to be stretched (length)!!!

Find a Eurovan with a manual transmission and build it out yourself. That's what our son did three years ago and it has been on many extended road trips. Yes, there are maintenance costs as with everything mechanical. It fits in any parking space.

Agreed. For that price one could own a travel trailer with far more enmities(like being able to stand up in it, bathroom, etc). Probably forget the off road stuff, mostly, though.

05:33 Semi-retired welder-fabricator here. We built our tandem-axle toy-hauler on a commercial chassis. We think tandem-axle adds resilience. . Looking at the RSVP? rig, we notice something [thumb UP]... We built both our ExpeditionVehicle body and toy-hauler body to extend slightly past the tires, eliminating the need for fenders. Weird, huh?

I like the Valkarie Overland Trailer base price $25K that sleep for people that's nice. Too bad it is only available in England. Shipping it here in the US for sure the price will close to $30K with some option.

7:26 when you prefer Breddonach quality or you're so bloody minimalistic, even the previous ones didn't convince you, but you still want one of these little campers, to be _"extra hardcore"_ (they can be driven from outpost to outpost, to cook whatever meals the sentinels want or need)

I look at these prices for something not too hard to build at a faction of the asking price. It just doesn't make much sense not to build it yourself when they cost so much.

Unfortunately living in IL it's very difficult to get the DOT to approve a home built camper. I agree with you. If it were easier, I'd build one myself

@@RompRat42 re -- home-built For a half-century, we converted a vast variety of commercial rigs to campers. Based on our experience, license/registration/insurance is simple. . What are you doing to complicate your 'approval'?

Yes there all very nice, but not very affordable, seems the smaller and lighter they are, the more expensive they are, I’ll stick to camping the old fashion way as I’ve been doing since I’ve was a kid….besides I need a lite weight trailer that a 2.5, AWD, SUV can handle…but your number 1 was very nice weight wise but off the chart price wise…

That may be true, however when you become older, most likely, you will find a tent less accommodating,. I never slept well in a tent. I would wake up from the heat, or cold and the hard ground taking a toll on my back. Traveling you need to store a tent as opposed to a camper which adds storage , security and comfort. What's affordable varies from person to person along with ones needs.In most cases buying a camper used or a few years old will knock that price down considerably.

@@mindseyedesign at 70, I still don’t mind sleeping on the ground, just use a good inflatable Matt, an as for the heat or cold, I’m ex military, spent time in Antarctica and desert, i know how to deal with both, along with various wx conditions..or if there’s a couple of tree, a tent hammock is nice..but I must admit there are times when pitching a tent when you tired, after driving several hundred miles, it nice to be able to just pull over on som remote dirt road and hit the sack, anyways, I don’t have a lot, and just getting buy, so you have to make do with what you can afford…

@@tomjohn8733 Nearly two decades full-time live-aboard in our ExpeditionVehicle. We rarely travel more than a hundred miles a month. . Summers up rough logger tracks to remote mountain lakes. Winters on isolated Baja beaches. . Planning routes with our caravan chums, we organize our day to be set in camp by mid-afternoon. . We see videos of campers arriving at their spot at 'mad-slasher mid-night'...

Prices on any of these Teardrop/Squaredrop/Offroad campers is STOOPID HIGH. You can purchase FULLSIZE travel campers for the same prices and less.

Just sad there are no south african mini campers in here for we make some of the best on the planet like the ARMEDILLO TRAILERS.SOME OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN CAMPERS WILL PUT THESE TRAILERS TO SHAME AND AT ALOT LESS OF A PRICETAG.

Agreed. Australian and Seffrikan. Tested, rugged. . Similar to a stock-trailer for hauling horses or cattle, farmers and ranchers would never tolerate the imbecilic 'quality' of American RecreateVehicles. . Equipment must be reliable and practical. . We delivered RecreateVehicles manufacturer-to-dealer and dealer-to-shows. A year and a hundred thousand miles convinced us to build our ExpeditionVehicle on a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck. We are also convinced factory RecreateVehicle Quality Control consists of the buyer camping in the repair shop, waiting for non-existent parts. . In America since about 2010, Exhaust Fluid is required. Sadly, tragically, the failure rate of Exhaust Fluid equipment is approximately 100% (utter and complete)... ... often on the way home from the dealer. The rig limps or is towed back for service, stuck on the back fence in the weeds until those non-existent parts come straggling in.
