Visited last year (2023) as part of my 60th birthday celebration. First time in USA - and always wanted to visit the canyon. It really doesn't disappoint - my first reaction? er.... Tears. It was so vast and amazing I literally had no words. It is a stunning place and I would visit it again

I used to say after seeing the postcards, movies, videos and friend's pictures, how much more beautiful could it be? Well folks I cant describe the feeling when you first take a look at the wonder. it is not just visual but spiritual too and i am not exaggerating. What surprised me too was that there were so many people and yet it was quiet.

Can you imagine the reaction of the first European explorers who first saw all that ! They probably thought they'd arrived at the edge of the Earth ! I've read somewhere that those scraggly old pines on the rim are very old. Ancient actually.

not only that, but what you see when you look out into the canyon is pretty much the way they saw it too, I read that the entire time of humans on Earth represents 9 hours in the life of the canyon, or words to that effect...either way the place is awesome and lives up to it's 'grand' name.

Thanks reminds me that time I have visit the great place. I went into east gate where observation tower located and i did same action like a guy in video. the sculpture of nature made me confusion of scale sensibility. I went South Rim and North Rim and was little bit different mood. SR looks open wide and NR feels reclusive. The road to NR was really beautiful. I believe the road closed in winter season.

To have such a friendly voice!... This was the first time that I also got to see the Grand Canyon. Maybe someday I can go keep up the good camera work makes you feel like you're there and gives you a measure of peace being in the outdoors which I never get to do hardly ever. So again thanks! I've done the Sky Walk twice .. two different trips over 10 years ago back then it was $80.00... the drive is the worse part because the road is horrible due to the Washboard Ruts caused by Tandem Axle tour buses traveling at break neck speed with tourists ... back then the best road was through Peach Springs which is accessed by turning right before Kingman ... also just about got blown off the Highway going west between Williams and Kingman during a Dust Storm ... not sure what was better the Skywalk or the Dust Storm ... when I got into Boulder City I turned on TV and seen on the News over a hundred Cars, Trucks, RV's and 18 Wheelers on their sides or roofs ... I was about 10 minutes ahead of the worst part of the storm the whole way ... I was driving down the middle of Highway while the gusts were blowing me sideways right and left ...

The road out to Grand Canyon West is much better now. The best route now is from Dolan Springs off Highway 93. I believe it may even be paved all the way out, although I haven't been there for about a year and a half.
