I really enjoyed this very informative video! I have been putting a tablespoon of peanut butter in my oatmeal after it is cooked to add some protein. I hope that is OK and does not affect the soluble fiber benefits of oats.

Crispbread (Wasa from Sweden) is made from rye, yeast, and salt. Not quite a cracker and not quite a bread. I like the sourdough version.

Thanks for the recommendations Dr Joe. Going to give the Rye bread a go, as the likes of Ezekiel bread and sprouted wholegrain breads seem hard to get hold of in my area. The rye bread looks quite stodgy so might stick to one slice

This is great advice. I start/stop and start/stop with healthy eating but I'm in my late 40s and I'm trying to get away from ultra processed foods as much as possible. I will incororate these into my daily breakfast along with other fruits and non-sweetened yogurts and kefir for the probiotics

You should incorporate the foods into your diet. You don't have to eat them everyday but eat them as often as possible and of course you include all the foods I talk about for cholesterol reduction on this channel. It's a combination of all the things you do that makes it work

Use what's available to you locally. There's not much else you can do if some of the foods aren't locally sourced. Something is always better than nothing, if you get my drift

I grew up eating buckwheat and I love it. However, I hesitate to eat in now because it's very high in oxalic acid, and I have a very small kidney stone that I don't want to grow any larger.

You can actually source them online. A lot are available in local supermarkets. It depends on where you live. Use the ones locally available to you if you are struggling

Very good video, Doc. , as always. Breakfast foods to lower Cholesterol 1. Chia Seeds 2. Rye Bread/Pumpernickel bread (low glycemic index and B Vitamins 3. Black Beans 4. Pear 5. Rolled Oats Bonus Breakfast Food: - Buckwheat Watch this short video for very important information as to WHY they’re so good for you. Thank you Dr Joe. I used flaxseed and it lowered my cholesterol too like a dream! I boiled a bit, added honey, milk, ginger or cinnamon and drank every day. It wasn’t very high so two or so weeks worked. About 1/4 cup flax seeds and 1 liter of water.
