I fell in love with Dark Rebel the second I smelled it. Still at the top of my personal favorites. Never received a compliment and women don't like it but I love wearing it.

@@SamuelDiaz21 I get 4-5 hours on skin, but lasts days on my cloths. My woman always reminds me, "Your shirt stinks like that cigar cologne." I take it as a compliment.

@@kenwhite5425 on skin, if I get 2 hours at most I'm lucky. For some reason it just doesn't work that well on my skin, but on clothes yeah it can last for days. I don't regret buying it though, it's such a great masculine fragrance.

You are so right on everything you say here. Lalique is a great choice as your number one. Caron reminds me my father and Cartier, I used to work for the company. It reminds me of work and my suits that would come home smelling of that fragrance since it came out at that time. Thank you for the video 👍 Great mustache BTW.

I bought Encre Noire last year on your recommendation and do not regret. $25 US and it smells on par with my more expensive frags. I like it more than my Versace Eros. Almost like it as much as Prada Luna Rossa Black, but I just ran out of that so this will be my main spray.

I just blind brought Hanae Mori HIM EDP, this was after looking at Tons of reviews on KZfaq and Fragrantica. As soon as I sprayed it I KNEW I was going to like it, BUT.....It honestly gets better and better, within minutes I loved it! Just smells quality, I don't know about Gucci Pour Homme II, never put my nose on it, To my nose, it's a bit similar to the wonderful Spicebomb but more like another favorite of mine, Azzaro Wanted By Night, so far it's only been tested on my wrist, I then sat at a table and was drinking from a glass, it was wafting up at me even after my hand was resting on the table. I told my Son to take a sniff and he loved it, it's getting slightly more powdery after the Two-hour mark but just incredible, smells very expensive, a keep that's for sure, and so cheap!!! Buy it Guys, you won't go wrong!

Ditto on Dark Rebel. The scent itself is one of my favorite, but the mediocre performance has me reaching for something else every time I consider wearing it. It has a castoreum note for Obi-Wan’s sake... Oh well. Will probably wear it tonight.

Encre Noir à l'Extrème from Lalique is a masterpiece if you ask me. Even more sophisticated than the original, but surely just as impressive. Almost disgraceful it's at bargain prices.

Should’ve added Ed Hardy’s villain. That stuff smells exactly like D&G The One. And imho it performs better than the D&G. Longevity is better and projection is better. It can be picked up on fragrancenet for like $18.

I smelled the perfume in the store because I saw a lot of positive comments about it... I bought it.. The first time I put it on I smelled a rough and spicy smell and was very surprised because the store smelled more pleasant... After five hours I was going to wash my hands when I suddenly smelled a mesmerizing smell on me and I knew it was Reminds me of another perfume but in a crazy way .. I would say ... then I remembered that this perfume smells exactly like chanel bleu To be honest, I was shocked because none of the cases of perfumes in the world said that it smells like Chanel Bleu Many have noted that it reminds of Versace pure i can say that i have made a new and most importantly very interesting discovery! From Israel !!!

Just recieved Encre Noir today , no joke this juice smells so elegant.... for me it smells like a sweeter version of Chanel Anteous, but has its own DNA and vibe... Older gents only.... 40+ wear a suit👍👍

Thanks to a recommendation from Agnes Eva I checked today Tabac Fire Power. Bought it on the spot, what a bargain! €10.95 for 50ml. In spite of the name it doesn´t smell aggresive or in your face at all to me, rather subdued and in a way I´d even say ultimately "calm." Smells incredibly pleasant and "well rounded" for me. Tabac Original is double the price, and I like this one a lot more. Could have been a lot more expensive and I would still buy it

I'll have to try a couple of those. Dark Rebel to me doesn't smell animallica or stinky. Just comes off really sweet to me then smells like a brand new leather jacket about 10 minutes in. By the way your mustache is spilling over on one side lol

I picked up 4.2 oz tester bottles of dark rebel & dark rebel rider @ an Elizabeth Arden outlet store in San Marcos, Tx for around ten dollars a piece. They are solid fragrances and for the price I paid I spray it on myself just being at home out of principle because I don’t regularly get much use out of them due to the hot weather in Tx.

oh my goodness, hanae mori! It was the first fragrance ever I made research about when i was like 18 or so.. the first steps with scents haha, totally forgot about that one! I remember i watched reviews on that one, back in the days. Thanks for reminding me and bringing the memories back - I never tried that fragrance though, I will try it now :-)

*Great picks Ashton! Cartier Déclaration d'un Soir and Lalique Encre Noir à L'Extrême would be my choice.* Got recently another cheap bargain: Conquest Personal Care - Addiction Gold Man. Notes: Mandarin, Nutmeg, Cardamom, Amber and Woody Notes. Not groundbreaking, but office-friendly performance. *Unbeatable price of 1,99€/50 ml!!! Synthetic, but pleasant ingredients quality. Bought a backup bottle, LOL!* ☕😂👌

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all! I've got the dark rebel and a l'extreme. It would be hard to pick a favorite between the two because I like them both a lot, but if I go just based on what I reach for more, I reach for dark rebel more often. Cheers!

I bought a load of fresh & blue fragrances, and now I am on a darker scent kick. A few of my favorites are Oud Wood, Nuit D'issey, Issey Pour Homme Intense, and Versace Oud Nior. I just blind purchased Encre Noire a L'extreme... so here's hoping it's somewhere in the ballpark of those scents. 🤞🏼

I use the Lalique Encre Noire L'extreme and I just love this scent and people always seems to react when I wear it at work in the winter :) I have heard though from lalique themselves that they are not happy at websites that sell their fragrances for the prices they do xD

@@validatedclassified2564 they want the prices to be higher. Or not allowed to be sold on the sites at all. Like I managed to buy the Noir Premiere Terre Aromatique that normally cost 2500NOK in Norwegian stores for 800nok. It was such a price difference that I thought the one I bought was a fake

I completely agree with your takr on HiM. The opening almost smells like those soap bubbles kids used to play with back in the day. That cheap smell goes away about 10 minutes in on my skin

DuPont, & English Laundry Windsor can also be interesting comparisons; thanks for reviewing this & Lalique ENALE (another I have) as well as JV DR; Rider is the one I think you'd like, especially the cacao pod, tolu balsam, osmanthus, marjoram, saffron, & hyssop...

Tabac Original is double the price, and I like this one a lot more (Tabac Original to me is quite too unisex, maybe rather more feminine than unisex even.) This is something else, and could have been a lot more expensive and I would have still bought it

Video idea: JV dark rebel vs JV dark rebel rider. I've searched KZfaq for a video discussing the similarities and differences of these two fragrances and found NO ONE has done this yet.

Maybe I got a bad batch or something but DR Rider gives me nothing except sharp leather. None of the beautiful complexity that Dark Rebel exudes off my skin. I disagree with fragrantica in that I don't find them similar at all

@@jarnawap It's possible that you are anosmic to the other notes or your bottle has experienced some heat damage from bad warehouse conditions or storage

Encre Noire A L'Extreme - is it just me or does the opening smell just like Jim Beam? The drydown of this juice, on the other hand, is absolutely stunning! I get a lot of Bentley Intense vibes - but a little sharper and earthier.

I feel Encre Noire is the best. I currently rock a l'extreme but it's not as complete as the aforementioned. Will revert to Encre Noire.

Declaration D'un Soir is an outstanding fragrance and I am so sorry to say that I paid full retail for it. 😕I want to echo that the rose note in this fragrance is not feminine at all, just fresh and beautiful. In fact, I really didn't even recognize it as rose until I saw the notes listed on Fragrantica. Great list!

I got the lalique one a few weeks ago. At first I thought it was a horrible blind buy probably because I was coming into a cold. But I gave it another try and I dont hate it anymore. Def a fragrance that is dark and not unisex to me, the designer world got me too much into fresh sweets, so a change of pace turned me off at first. Def the most interesting thing in my small collection
