New to the channel, working on entry into this at a budget. Im going to make a budget CNC tabletop with a couple dremels and vice clamps i think i can do it. I will update at a later date. This stuff is so educational.

Great video. I am starting up my side hustle and made some awards for a Cub scout gingerbread competition in the shape of a gingerbread house with a large hand placing a gumdrop on the roof. Several colors of paint and some epoxy, it was work. Then I made some simpler plaques for a boyscout event just using a single V bit and finishing with danish oil and shellac. Now I am about to start some for the Lions Club. All for free to try and generate some traffic for paying jobs.

Thank you buddy also, I like how you include the bits to use and that was a great tip on the ruler starting at 6 inches and I never thought of a trophy before that’s really cool you’re the best❤️🇨🇦

I have been making the growth stick for several years for friends and family. I am a retiree that just wants to have fun. I engrave mine with a CNC. I do engrave evert quarter inch and realize I do not need too. I line my next set of numbers up by just putting the bit in a previous number and away we go. When I do sell mine, I start at $50 for pine and then go up quickly to oak or maple. Great product.

Great advice about making things that don’t ship well to reduce competition. I like the awards concept, you get multiple pieces with slight variations, making it worth the time to design something fun. I need a donkey!!

How did you do that Texas award?? Is that all 1 piece or is it in 2 pieces where you profiled the Tx out, then milled a slot in the base (on a separate piece of wood) for the Tx to fit in it or how?? Any info on how you did that award would be greatly appreciated.

For most of these we just use a coat of minwax

@@cutting-it-close thanks. I mean the protective finish/clear coat, is it minwax polycrylic?
@cutting-it-close

@@shanesphotography3350 Sorry about that, we use Arm-R-Seal it is a general finishes product, it works great if you do like 2-3 layers of it, I finish my tables with it, and then Odie's oil or Osmo coat if I want an Oil look finish on my product.
