These are some of my favorite projects / demonstrations, and if you’re a seasoned subscriber, you may remember some of this footage from various “Quick Clips” posted well over a year ago. But I imagine for the majority of you, most of these will be new.
I was excited to make this compilation to explain what was happening, and hope that you felt the power and excitement of science in action. I’m really excited about sharing the results of my experiments with you.
One of my favorite shots in the video was when two separate sodium pieces joined together into one piece, while dancing around on the water. Did you catch that part?

I did the last one at school for the science fair. Got gold. I tried making the mixture at home, but made it on a stove with the explosive mixture in a small metallic plate. The entire mixture spontaneously combusted in my kitchen. Did it again, but it worked that time... lol

Grant Thompson - "The King of Random" Maybe one day, sitting around a fire with a beer in my hand, I can tell you that particular story. The internet doesn't need to know all my youthful lapses of judgement. Let's just say that it is surprisingly easy to get raw materials if you're a nerdy A-grade scholar who's doing a "school project". And also, it turns out that nitroglycerine is *extremely* unstable in liquid form. Plus, there are easier ways to get a couple of days off school than by trying to blow it up. And obviously, the obligatory *Do Not Try This At Home.*

One thing man! I did the 5th experiment in school! It's to do with Alkali metals, lithium is less reactive than sodium and potassium is more reactive than sodium. But anyways great video! I might recommend to watch this in our chemistry classes! xD It's great watching something which you already know all about.

We actually did the sodium one at school lol. Once the gas started coming out the teacher made us run. He technically wasn't allowed to do it. We also did a thermite experiment. He was kinda crazy haha

#1: Wood hitting student or poisoning from chemicals in the water. #2: Damage to property or student injury would occur #3: Students would get a fright and/or would be hospitalized if they have heart problems #4: Damage to property and students stealing metallic objects from classrooms to try this #5: Someone would try to eat the pie and the exploding part would set off the smoke alarms in the school
