Join The Big Fish Energy in 5 Days of Epic Fly Fishing in Southern BC
Join us in Southern BC as we tour picturesque rivers and lakes to pursue our passion of Fly Fishing. With the early freshet and the dry conditions so far this year, the lakes and streams of Southern BC were at prime flows, and the trout were active and hungry
My goal of this Fly Fishing video was to immerse you in my Southern BC Fly Fishing experience, bringing you along and sharing my eyes of all the beautiful British Columbia Scenery, every cast, and every fish landed. I wanted it to feel like you were right there with me in sharing the Fly Fishing experience, and I hope you enjoy this cinematic Fly Fishing experience.

I have watched many of your videos and they are all very good. I see that you have been searching for really big rainbows. If you want to catch some big ones you need to fish the Columbia river in BC from Castlegar down to Trail and to the US border. There are rainbows to 15 lbs . Most fish the back eddies from a boat , you can catch them from the shore. Average size fish are 20 inches. There are walleye in the river and are classed as invasive so the limit is 16 per day, 32 posession. Best times are when the caddis hatch in late May then the river moths in July and August. I have a friend who fishes the Columbia every day in the summer ,mostly 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm .He always catches Rainbows on the dry fly. The Columbia is a very large deep clear river and fast. Give it a go next time you come to BC.

Bruce, really appreciate the comment and information! Can't thank you enough for the support. I have had my eye on the Columbia, it's just been tough as it is a big old river, but deff on the list for some day on another trip out there. So many areas to explore its absolutely endless. Have a few bc trips. Lined up this year so I will see what I can do!

So great to see you fishing with your dad. I would give anything to do that. Lost my dad when i was 13 years old, he would have loved to be out on such a majestic lake that. Take care, God bless you.

Looks like another awesome trip, my man! I was a fisherman surveyor for my first piloting job- would fly over 100 lakes in that area and count the boats on them, love the spots 👌🏻

Pops has it right… cigars and flyfishing go hand in hand! A word of caution though…it is generally frowned upon to drive and park motorized vehicles on dry riverbeds. In some rivers in BC, there is a motorized vehicle ban on river floodplains.

He sure does! And thank you, I appreciate the info about the river beds. I had checked the regs for this stretch and didn't see anything, but can totally understand in general. Thanks for the heads up

Yeah you won’t find motorized vehicle floodplain closures in the fishing regs. There are some closures listed here www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/sports-culture/recreation/camping-hiking/sites-trails/legislative-framework/recreation-orders Cheers
