Recently I've been really getting into various older styles of Blues Guitar playing. Mississippi Delta Blues is really one of my favourites, and from John Lee Hooker to Jimi Hendrix to Stevie Ray Vaughan, these old licks and styles have been incorporated into modern blues rock guitar playing.

Loved this. Really helpful as I’m enjoying noodling around catfish blues at the mo’ and this has taught me a couple of licks to throw in. Would appreciate another lesson on blues rhythms that allowed you to use these licks.

EXCELLENT VIDEO Great licks! Very Lightnin Hopkins & Jimi Hendrix. I play almost exclusively Delta Blues & (North Mississippi) Hill Country Blues.

Great vid; there's a psychological dimension to everything in life, and this applies to guitar playing. If one can afford high end gear and use it, that's awesome. There are people who are happy with a squier and a fender champion and who are tremendous players, to each his own. Myself, I get motivated by high end gear; it's psychological, I think it's beautiful, I like playing it, feeling it, looking at it, smelling it (nitro 335 smells like vanilla, martin HD28 has a great woody smell), and it makes me happy.

Every time I watch an SG ...I think I need one....and every time I go and play one in a shop....I am so disappointed by the slim body shape....and leave it in the shop ! Your sound amazingly in your hands 👍

This is great and really helpful. Would be nice if the camera angle was more face on to the neck rather than looking up. Also a bit closer would be better. But thanks for sharing, please do more!

Oh man. Is it too late for a Sky King vs Bartel comparison to hear the evolution of Mark’s amps? Nice video by the way 🙂

Almost! The deal has been delayed a couple or few weeks. But, if i don’t manage to make it - the sky king and bartel are quite different, but my issue with a comparison is the cab vs combo thing. I know you want me to plug the sky king into the bartel cab - and that is interesting - but we’ll see!

@@JamesOnGuitar For sure… to really hear the difference we’ll need the amps going through the same cab. I’d try both through the SK and both through the Bartel cab to show what a difference a cab and speaker can make. It would be cool to hear if you can get round to it. Cheers
