I always felt that the pathfinder tool was unpredictable but the more I’ve gotten comfortable with it the more I’ve used it and the more indispensable it’s become. Add the pathfinder and shape builder and you’re unstoppable!!

I normally just stick to pen tool and smooth tool for everything. I definitely need to get in the habit of using some of these other techniques too!

I didn’t realise about the centre feature on type on a path. I’ve spent hours of frustration trying to get text aligned properly. Thanks for the tip. One tool that I absolutely love is the shape builder tool. I actually just used it yesterday and its way easier than the pen tool.

If you use the "arms" on Type on a Path tool, you can drag one to where you want your type to start and drag the other arm to where you want it to end...like half of the top or half of the bottom. Make sure you hover over the line until you see an left or right arrow. Right arrow is where it should begin, left arrow is the end point, and then drag. Then in the Paragraph panel, just click on the "center" and you have perfectly centred text, without rotating the original circle.

Thank you! To be honest I never create a logo in procreate, I always go straight into illustrator and start designing there 💛 I use procreate more for backgrounds, textures and any intricate drawings x

Hi, what did you do to change the colour of your letter to the colour you had in your artboard? Also, I have only just downloaded Ai, but I don't have the colour themes option? Can i also say your videos are brilliant, and very helpful. Really enjoying them all!

A quick one Abi. I am struggling to extract a shape with the shape builder too. I am only able to delete and remain with the shape i want using Alt key. However i want to be able to extract the shapes as distinct objects or separate individual shapes of the the main object. How do i go about it?
