Build 5 characters. I suggest you nake Orlik or Leon the fifth. Tanks are really only viable in PvP but thats also where you will need a fifth team member.

keep at least one copy of each until your account is more fleshed out, refining for one complete weapon of that type is fine no need to go crazy unless you have two units that use the exact same weapon
