5 Frightening Missing Children Cases
Close to 800,000 children go missing in the United States each and every year. Some are found, others are recovered months or even years, and still others vanish without a trace at all. The cases on this list present some scary, true stories of kids that have never been found. These are 5 Frightening Missing Children Cases.
5. Mikelle Biggs
Minutes passed and still no truck. 9 yr old Kimberly Biggs felt cold and was getting annoyed as she stood on the street corner of their neighborhood in Mesa, Arizona on January 2, 1999. She told her big sister, Mikelle Biggs who was (11), that he was going back inside to get a coat. It was dusk but the sisters were waiting by the street intersection for the ice cream truck to arrive.
4. Morgan Nick
It was the first time in awhile since Colleen Nick and her eldest child, Morgan had had any mother-daughter bonding time. On June 9, 1995, the two headed to Alma, Arkansas, a small town 30 minutes away from their home to watch a Little League Baseball game. Colleen had friends in the area and Morgan’s grandmother happily watched over Logan, Morgan’s 4 year old brother, and 22-month old sister, Taryn.
3. Peter Warren & David Spencer
A day after Christmas in 1996, bestfriends, 13 yr old David Spencer and 11 yr old Patrick Warren left their homes in Chelmsley Wood, England. In the afternoon, they were seen by police officers playing at a frozen pond. The officer told them it was dangerous and told them to go home. David arrived home close to midnight after roaming the neighborhood. He told his mother he and Patrick were going to spend the night at Patrick’s brother’s home, just a short walk away.
2. Sabrina Aisenberg
In 1997 Steve and Marlene Aisenberg from Tampa, Florida were happily married with three kids. Their eldest, William, was 8 years old, Monica, 4, and their youngest, Sabrina, was just 5 months old. On November 23, the couple tucked their children into bed for the evening. Marlene checked in on Sabrina at around midnight, making sure she was still asleep.
1. Laureen Rahn
Shortly after midnight on April 26, 1980, Judith Rahn stepped inside her apartment on Merrimack Street in Manchester, New Hamshire. Every hallway light was out in their three story apartment building which she found odd. Judith had returned from a tennis tournament out of town and Normally, her daughter, 14-year old, Laureen, would tag along but skipped this particular event.

Oh absolutely! Especially being a mother now myself. My daughter is turning 3 next week and I don't let her out of my sight even for just a second! Kids are fast, and sneaky, and it really only takes literally a second for something to happen. Having my sweet girl go missing or something tragic like that happen to her is my WORST FEAR. I just can't even imagine what the parents of missing children must go thru, and hopefully I'll never have to find out. 💔

Same here. I was never allowed outside alone, or even with my little sister. We were allowed at age 13 to walk to and from places alone, I was extremely cautious. So glad my parents were cautious.
@ashleynave561

Being too extremely overprotective can be harmful. However teaching kids to be aware of their surroundings is a good idea to teach them to be cautious. Of course there is sex predators who target kids and serial child killers, too. Think of the horror movie Nightmare on Elem Street. Freddy Krueger was child molester, and child serial killer. There are perverted men out there who are sick in the head or just plain evil/wicked. Even some women are like that. Although most likely it's men who commit violent crimes.

What’s scary is how you never think this would happen to you.. when I was 9 years old and I was walking home by myself to my dads house (which I’ve done many times before but always with my brother) a typical white van started creepin behind and I noticed it was following so I turned onto the street adjacent from my dads and hid behind a hedge that lined someone’s pathway. The guy waited there for 10 mins even got outta the van and was looking for me... thank god my mom taught me about stranger danger and to always be aware of your surroundings from such an early age

As a mom myself , I not only am super hyper aware with my children when out in public but I’m also super aware of other children as well. I especially keep an eye on anyone strange on the playground (people alone just watching kids for example) . a similar situation happened with me on a playground as well. although i’m not a mother i was at the park with my nieces who were about 13, 8, and 2 and a little boy was wndering all through the park crying. the child was about 2 years old and he was walking so far from the park. in that moment i knew that if someone didn’t grab him and safely find his parent/guardian then someone with bad intentions would so i went and got the child and walked all over the park with him asking ppl if they knew his parent or came with him until his guardian was finally found. turns out he had wandered off from a birthday party and got lost but in that moment i knew i had to step up.

I was once lost in a hotel when I was 5. I went into the elevator, thinking I would find my parents and a man came in with me. He asked if I was lost and such and I nodded and started crying for some reason. Luckily, he was kind and immediately took me to the front desk where they helped me find my parents. I could’ve easily been taken advantage of or kidnapped in that situation now that I think of it and it’s scary. I was lucky, getting somebody with no intentions of ever hurting or taking me. Sometimes no matter how hard you may try, you won't find them. Don't berate these parents. A man similarly mocked how he was a real man and would never let his family be harmed. Later on that same week his house was broke into and his wife and daughter were s xualy assaulted. It's good to want to give up on something like this but it is extremely hard, don't act superior thinking you could do better.

There is nothing heartbreaking about these idiot children going missing never to be found. They were stupid enough to deserve it. This is why I feel absolutely no sympathy for missing children. It's just natural selection at it's finest, just like with the Darwin Awards. The more missing children that are never found, the better for our society. Less stupid people, that's why. This is one of the many, many reasons why I could never handle having kids. Not just because I have anxiety disorders and would have a complete meltdown if I couldn't find them in five minutes (happened a lot when I was a kid/teen, because of my asshole brother), or would become sick with stress and worry, but I wouldn't be able to deal with any brush off attitude. If the cops started treating a disappearance of a hypothetical child of mine as a runaway and not treat it with urgency, I would lose my damn mind.

When I was a kid in the 90's/00's we were allowed to play out on our estate til it got dark or til tea was ready. There were parents on every street so we weren't totally unsupervised. When we were mid teens we were allowed to get the 50min train into the city with a group of friends. We had freedom and all made it to adulthood. There were rules and we all followed them, because we respected our parents as we felt respected too. One such rule was that we had to be in a group of three or more and never let one of our friends go off alone. Why do I say this? The comments below seem to think parents like we have are bad parents. Which btw is insulting as heck. Don't make such blanket judgements. Countries, regions and cities/towns/villages are all so different. Our village has always been a wonderful place . Please don't judge others when you don't know context or details about the areas and its history these cases are from... For crying out loud these parents feel bad enough without extra hate from judgemental people. You do you. Parent exactly how you want. But, baring extreme circumstances, don't judge how others do it. You can be as careful as you want, these things could happen to anyone.

I was born in 1965 in a UK seaside town. Back then virtually everyone knew everyone else. All the kids in the street played together. Front and back doors were left unlocked. My Nanna lived with us and would often sit keeping an eye (and supplying squash and the old broken biscuits you could buy in a big box!!) on thirty or more children. Back then there was always someone keeping an eye, a sort of unofficial neighbourhood watch system. Back then we all were taught respect for others or get a clip round the ear. There were no mobile phones, no CCTV, no Bluetooth to track where your kids were. Not everyone even owned a home phone or a television!! However what we did know, who the ‘weirdos’ were in town that we had to stay away from. At eight/nine years of age me and my brother often went to the beach on our own. But we knew the guy who did the deckchairs along the seafront and also all the other beach vendors. We walked home from school at that age alone. A guy tried to take me in his car just six houses down from my own, telling me my brother had an accident and he was to meet me to take me to my parents at hospital. I declined and ran saying my Nanna who was housebound would still be expecting me so she would not be alone too long. He stupidly didn’t realise that I knew who he was. He was actually the new helper in Sunday School at church. It caused a ruckus of disbelief at church, until it went to court. It came out that when the police apprehended him, he had a little boy in the car and had just left a little girl alone in nearby woods after raping her. I always count myself as lucky to escape this pedo who was eventually incarcerated for 23 counts of indecent assault, rape, abduction and child endangerment. He got 25 years, only to reoffend upon release and get another 18 years. No child anywhere is 100% safe from these twisted predators. They are sneaky, wormlike, bide their time and lie in wait for the perfect moment. As a Mum myself, I learnt to develop eyes, ears and instinct in not just one place. Be safe out there.🤷‍♀️❤️

You have to be so careful with your children. I remember getting separated from my mom in a grocery store when I was 4. I wandered off to go look at the candy or something and got all turned around and couldn't find my mom. A really nice lady saw that I was upset and asked me what my mom looked like so she could help me find her, and she did. But you never know what people's intentions are. That lady's intention was to be kind and helpful, but I could have just as easily come across someone who didn't have such good intentions. Kids can be very naive and trusting. Most kids are taught to listen to and obey adults. That's why it's important to not only keep a careful eye on kids, but to have plans in place. Plans for a meeting place in case of separation in a public place. Plans for who would come and pick them up at school if there's an emergency. And teach them that not all adults have to be obeyed. There are a lot of evil people in the world who prey on children either out of perversion or because kids are easy targets.

I remember there was an older guy who would come by our house, me and my sister had a playground and us as kids well say hi to him back when he will say hi. My dad worked all day and my mom will be in her house. One day me and my sister were swimming in our pool in the back of the house and the guy had the decency to go through our yard and go to the back, my sister and me had our towels all wrapped up on us and we were literally right at the door, He told us he had gifts for us and we should go with him. My little instincts hit me, and I told the man "yea let me get my shoes there inside the house" my sister not on the brighter side said " lets go, come on" and I went inside and tried to pull her with me and she didn't come so I went in there calmly and once I was inside the house I ran upstairs and told my dad what had occurred and my dad got up so freaking fast grabbed a bat and ran downstairs the guy wasn't there anymore and my dad couldn't catch up or didn't find hime near. My sister was ok she was little and was mad I didn't get the presents. But now as I am old im happy they way I reacted because I can not and do not want to imagined what couldve happened.

Sorry I'm late to the party, just subscribed. I'm genuinely confused as to why you and others are judging when you've never been in that situation. First off, it wasn't her mother receiving the calls, it was her sister. Second, that poor family has the right to try to move on and try to sleep at night, literally and figuratively. Third, it's extremely unlikely that it was actually the missing girl on the phone. If she was being held against her will and managed to get to a phone, she likely would have called for help. Ridiculous.

I'll obviously get crucified for my comment, even though I add this disclaimer: I'm NOT blaming the mother. However, there are lessons to be learned from the Jamie Bulger case. After reading hours of interviews, it turns out that Jamie got away from his mother AT LEAST three times at the Strand mall that day, once when he was found wandering to an escalator. Once is heart stopping. Twice, you'll get reins on that baby, or keep him in your arms. Three or more, that child is going to get hurt or worse.

I think it's normal to have less pictures, the more children you have, especially in that day and age. My first child I got professional pictures done every three months for the first four years of her life. Then I did it less often when my second was born. Now with three kids, if it wasn't for digital pictures and camera cell phones I probably wouldn't have many pictures at all of my youngest. She is 12 now and I can only remember three times having her pictures done professionally.

This. There are enormous leather albums with photos of my two older sisters, but that stopped when I rocked up. Didn't help my parents also divorced within a year of that. But there are still loads of photos of me in boxes among the photos of my sisters when we were growing up. You just have to go FIND them. I feel this gets more complicated now that we are in a digital era in a way, I know where to find those boxes if I want to look through photos, but now they often end up spread over multiple devices over many years and it's easier to lose/delete things that may have seemed less important at the time.

My mom was almost kidnapped twice when she was young, my sister once and me once. In my moms case, she was smart enough to hide under a car after running thru an alleyway after being asked if she wanted a ride home (the guy chasing her was in a car so he didn't see her under) and the 2nd time she was close enough to her aunt's friends house and they happened to be outside when she managed to run there. In my sisters case, now this one is very interesting, she was young enough to be ridding a big-wheel bike. She was right outside the place they lived (before I was created) when someone tried to grab her. She said that she rode away on her big-wheel and was just outside the guy's reach the whole time all the way home. She said it felt like someone was pushing her because her bike pedals where spinning so fast she wasn't doing it and couldn't even keep up with the pedals. Not to long before this, my mom's brother Johnny had gotten killed. My sister thinks he was pushing her to get her away from the guy chasing her. My mom and sis both tell their stories better than I do. My story is the most lackluster, I was a toddler walking behind my mom going to the store. I guess she had turned around and there was a guy behind us. Not sure if he was about to pick me up or if he was just creepily close with his eyes fixed on me. My mom quickly grabbed me first and that was the end of that. My mom always tells me when I have kids or am with my little nieces to never ever let them walk behind you, even just behind you.

When I was young my cousin and I we're playing in our grandmother's backyard. Her backyard is huge with no real trees but maybe one or two and no fence. Well this white truck passed down the side Road next to us and I didn't think anything of it until it came back again. This time slower. I thought it strange so I told my cousin we should play on the porch. And we did and I noticed the truck on the others Road by the other houses next to my grandmother's. And what do you know it came back around this time much slower. I don't really remember the man inside the truck I think he was a white guy but he stopped right next to the house and just stared then he opened his door. I immediately grabbed my cousin's hand and said we're going inside. I don't know who the person was. I don't know if they were sex offender or what. But what I did know is that it gave me a bad feeling. We went inside we didn't even tell our grandmother and we just started playing and kind of forgot about it. But I think about it randomly and wonder what would have happened. It's so terrifying. Back in the 90s we always played on the streets. Keep an eye on those 7 or stop at a number you can supervise ..most these parents let their kids go with friends unsupervised that's the real horror here is that the parents whom make the responsible decisions let these kids roam like free range chickens ...I dont understand raising a child to only set them with an insane amount if freedom the moment they become a teen or a older kid..18 is the age that parents should let them go not 9-18 it's insane the stories that are out there and then parents are like idk how this happen ..yes you do..you let your child become an adult and a predator come into play..like the 2 boys on bikes. ..like the teen girls getting drunk with 2 unknown males..if those parents were parenting it would t have happen ..

If she is she probably doesn't even know she is abducted. She is being raised by her "mother" maybe someone who couldn't afford adoption and was unable to have kids herself, so she stole a child and is raising sabrina as her own. Seen it happen more than once on crime shows. Usually from hospitals. But If she was abducted for sexual needs or something like that you'd think they would go after a older child...but they didnt they went after the baby...

why do the police think every case is a run away, i thought the first 48 hours was most important so why do they always wait it is silly i think a lot more kids would be saved if the police act right away

It's even worse to think that a lot of counties in a lot of states around the US have rules that say they can't start an investigation until after 24 hours missing. So like...there goes that first crucial amount of time on the same note of 48 hours. Fucking stupid.

Sad stories. Sadly I think most of these kids are most likely dead. The one that might still be alive is Sabrina Aisenberg. If her parents weren't at all involved, that is. It isn't all that unusual to sleep through an abduction, considering the layout of the house, that it was a baby (easy to keep quiet) and the others being heavy sleepers. Personally, I could probably sleep through WW3.

Things like this happen more than many people realize. And there are also known family abductions. When I was nine a neighborhood couple asked if I could go along with them for the weekend. My family and I had known them for years and they were good people and so my mother said yes. So I went with them happily. I knew that we were gone longer than a weekend. We had been to Indiana Back through Kentucky to Tennesse, and from Tennesse back to Indiana. I remember laying on the floor of the ladies grandmothers home and the grandfather asking why I was not home with my mother. The couple told the grandfather that my mother did not want me. I believed that because my mother was not a good loving mother. She and I had problems. A few days after that the couple took me to the park near my home and left me there. My mother and my Nana came running through the end of our street to the park with the police. Apparently the couple had taken off with me, my mother had known for over a week and no one said anything until my Nana started questioning where I was. I do not know if the couple was ever caught. The couple did not do anything to me. They actually were very nice to me and I was treated better by them than my own mother. I was One of the lucky children and was not harmed or treated wrong. After that I went to live with my Nana full-time. I have issues with my mother to this day. She allowed them to take me. I don’t believe she told them for a weekend. I think she told them they could keep me as long as they wanted. This was back in the 80s and they had a CB radio in their car and they let me talk to the passing semi‘s the whole time we were driving. Anytime that I was hungry they fed me, anytime I was tired I slept. We were in the car a lot. I do not think that I had a shower during the time I was gone because we were on the road so long. It could have been so much worse though and I know how lucky I am. In some of these cases that I watch on KZfaq, I cannot help but wonder if some of the parents are more involved than they say. Of course no One in their right mind would give their child to a predator. But there are cases where people are not in their right mind, and for whatever reason they do give their children to people like that. I did not mean to change the subject from the children that have been abducted here. I just thought I would state what happened to me and that things like this are more common than people think. I know people think oh well this would never happen to me or my children. Yes it most definitely can And if you are not watching your children as closely as you should, times are way different, and it will eventually happen.

As a mother myself I cant even imagine what these parents are going through. Every time I took my son out I had him strapped to me. Until he was five. Then on play dates I would volunteer to watch over the kids which most parents was too eager to take advantage of. Even now that my son is 20 he always touches base especially when his plans change. It's a sad fact our kids are never safe.

Stuff can happen so easily and when you least expect it. My family and I went to a park for a day of fun. Of the six children I was the one that wandered off and became lost. I was just five in 1968. Anyone could have taken me and no one would have any clue as to where I was. I was lucky enough to have wandered into another family picnic. A large Mexican family and no one spoke English. Language barriers were not an issue. The women surrounded me making sure I was okay and fed me a ton of food and water as they weren't sure when I had eaten last. I saw the men conversing wondering what to do with me. Concern for me was on all of their faces. Luckily a little later two of my brothers stumbled across us while looking for me. I am so grateful for that family that kept a child they did not know safe and unharmed. Yes, there are bad people in the world. And there are good ones too.

When I was 15 in broad daylight a black van stopped in front of the curb I was crossing to. Two men were inside and one asked me for directions. Once I gave him the directions he grabbed my hand to shake it. After he did, I let go quick and started walking home. They couldn’t immediately follow me because I was going up the block adjacent to the One way light they were on. But as I slowed down I noticed they were still following me, they came to a halt when they almost caught up to me on my home block so I ran inside a dollar store and noticed the van wasn’t leaving. Luckily they left after 10 minutes and I immediately ran upstairs to my apt. It’s crazy that I’m broad daylight on a busy street i would’ve gotten taken.

The only thing worse than not knowing what happened to your child (bc you'd cling to the slightest possibility that your child is okay) is having your child's murder classified as suicide! No parent should live with that pain! My friend does. Plus this all happened approximately 20 years after she lost her first child to SIDS.

*Cops find foreign hairs, fingerprints, and shoeprints* "The parents did it!!" 🤦‍♀️ Sometimes, crazy shit happens and sometimes, all the unlucky things possible line up in order to make a tragedy possible. The dogs not barking, the baby not waking up when carried, no one waking up during the break-in...all unlucky things that lined up on the most unfortunate night in order for an intruder to come in and steal the baby. If the intruder was sneaky enough not to wake the dogs up then logically the intruder must have been quiet enough for no human being to hear him/her. Or perharps the intruder was someone that was known to the family and the dogs and someone who frequented the house but someone who was smart enough to make themselves scarce at the crimescene after the fact so that cops could question them and ask for fingerprints.

I’m glad you put this video together! People need to see just how it easy is for their child to get taken away from them. Often times people get comfortable with letting their children doing their own thing when there is looney people out there waiting for that opportunity to take advantage. It’s something you MUST be cautious with!
