Being able to use savestates in emulators has made me more willing to finish older games to keep down the replaying from checkpoint frustration

Yes. Those help out tremendously. I was able to complete Adventure Island (NES). The game has 32 stages. Trust its not a game you want to beat in one sitting.

Found your channel from Cannot Be Tamed. You are so right about the Castlevania music. There are some great music covers online of that soundtrack by different bands and people. As for the NES, a couple I still haven't beaten are the first TMNT (made it the giant Mouser), Blaster Master (made it to Stage 7), Snake Rattle N Roll (couldn't beat the final boss on the moon), and Castlevania 3. I'm currently working on trying to finish GI Joe.

I love going to gaming conventions and hearing bands do live covers. TMNT is too hard for me. Now Blaster Master I love that game. I need to find another copy for my NES.

@@GameFreak4Ever Have you ever seen clips of Bit Brigade playing the soundtracks live while someone plays the actual game. It's crazy. I'm also a big fan of Lame Genie, their MegaMan 3 medley is one of the best I've heard.

Sweet list & video, man. I wish I continue to play Super Metroid (SNES), but don't have it. There are games that I haven't finished (Splinter Cell, Axiom Verge, Aragami, Ratchet & Clank for examples).

Axiom Verge is on my list. I have had the game for years. I have even restarted my game numerous times. Still only to get started but never finish the game. I am big Ratchet and Clank fan. I've beat several titles out of the series.

I have never beaten a castlevania game at all. Shit i haven't even played Jak n Daxter. Damn Man That sucks about your memory card. That's happened to me a good time or two but you gotta complete that game man. I'm glad you uploaded.

I'm not the completionist type. I can bail out on a game and not look back. Infamous 2 one day I complete that game. Right now I am playing Alice in Wonderland along with a few other titles. I've learned over the years your favorite type of genre will having you missing out on other games. Since you're an RPG god you missed out on a lot of single player, plat former and side scroller games.

My level of concentration can be all over the place but I can get a bit hyper. That's why I don't do scripts. Maybe one day. The thoughts are just racing through my head. I love single player story driving game.s

I almost never finish games. I get addicted and play non stop then move on and when i pick the game back up months or years later i forget where i was and start again.

Some games controls will get away from me when I haven't played them in a long time. I will hardly ever start over again unless I repurchase a game or don't have that console anymore.

Right with you with exact same story with infamous...beat the first one hardly played the second and then beat the one on PS4 twice

Man that flight sim in San Andreas was brutal for me as well. I never got past that part. I just bought my first Donkey Kong on the 3ds yesterday. I'm hoping I can get through that one.

The flight school definitely takes a level of focus. Still a great game. I think with having so many missions and some of them are fillers it makes it hard to go back. Once I completed the flight school I set my sight on finishing the game. At least I thought I was. lol Those Donkey Kong games are no joke either. I completed Donkey Kong Country one and two. Simply due to the fact I use to play them all the time. I learned through death how through memory to beat those stages. Now that Tropical Freeze is up there in challenge as well. i picked it up some time last year.

Thanks for the tag! I have a new video ready to go to be posted on the 5th, but I'll work on a 5-games--I've-never-completed video for next weekend. BTW, you're not the only one that has struggled with my username. It is supposed to be two words - Ebb Derelict. I had to add the Ebb because when I was choosing a name for a site a long time ago, Derelict was already taken, and I've just kinda carried EbbDerelict with me from site to site.

Nice list LifeSpiller! I haven't finished San Andreas either (life got in the way). Some other games I haven't finished are Breath of the Wild, Final Fantasy VII (original), Shadow of the Colossus, and Super Mario World. My game backlog is getting worse and worse!

The titles you mention except Super Mario World require hours and hours of your time. I own all the those games except FF7 and only beat Super Mario World. I got really close with Shadow of Colossus. I beat I reached the 12th or 13th boss.

@@GameFreak4Ever Oh nice! Actually, when I first played Shadow of the Colossus I thought it was going to be short with like 8 or 9 bosses. FF7 takes a really long time to beat if you want to see everything. I don't think I'm even close!

There are so many games I have never beaten. You're a better man than me LS because I've never beaten a Grand Theft Auto game in my life. I have played many of them and never saw an ending to a single one.

I don't know man its something about those GTA games. I thoroughly enjoy them. GTA III was just the beginning for me. I was hooked from that point forward. Btw Vice City is my favorite. (the music, culture, the characters and movie references) One day I will go back to Ssn Andreas. I have it on several systems with different progress. I don't know which one I am the furthest ahead.

Thanks so much for doing a response. Super Metroid is absolutely phenomenal. I managed to beat it, but it's super easy to get lost. I had to look up a guide a couple times in order to get on with it! I have dabbled with the NES castlevania, but man it's hard! I don't know if I'll ever beat that one. Now I recently went on a Jak kick for a while. I played all the way through the first one and collected everything like a freak to get that platinum! I started playing through the second one recently, but damn, the second one is brutally hard and takes some of the fun out of it. Not sure I'll get through number 2 :D They look like kids games, but they're not, they're damn tough. I also found it hard to see where I was going in 3d some times. I gotta say, I never beat any of the PS2 GTAs in my life. The closest I got was in GTA 3 - the last mission. I just always seem to run out of steam for some reason. I remember when i first played San Andreas, and it blew me away. The plane missions and the size of the world were incredible. I have beat China Town and GTA London, so that's something at least :D

I always find it cool when I am mentioned in a video. So thanks for that. Yes. Super Metroid requires a guide for sure. I will need to play it again one day. When I don't know. lol Thank you for saying that about the Jak games. Biggest misconception is just because of the cartoon look its not a kid game. Yes. I heard Jak II turns it way up on the difficulty. I pretty much have all the games. Hats off to you for completing part one. I saw the digital version on sale. I may get it and press forward. Lately I been pressing through a lot of short titles. (games less than eight hours) Yeah the GTA games definitely take time. I think I was so in love with GTA III when it first came out. I was dedicated to completing it. Same with Vice City, GTA4 and GTA5. Now Liberty City Stories was short. I rented the game and beat it kinda quickly. Today's standard would've considered it DLC. Vice City Stories was much longer. It was better on the PSP than the PS2.

Final Fantasy X is one of my favorite games ever...but I have never finished Final Fantasy X-2.

That's crazy, I love san Andreas, my favorite game of all time, and it wasnt until around 2012 that I completed it, and I had it since release. San Andreas was just one of those games that was so much fun, I got distracted from finishing the story when I was younger. And crazy enough, the first time I 100% completed it was on the ipod version. I had like a 99% or something on ps2 for years, and didnt know what I needed. But after getting 100% on the ipod version, I immediately remembered what I had left to do on my ps2 version, which was the bank heist mission. That was a mission I never knew about.

I like this story. Yeah San Andreas is such a massive title. I have it on several systems. I recently started playing it again on my PS4. That's incredible you finished the game!

I am totally with you on GTA San Andreas. I bought it the second day that it was out, I was still in high school at the time and was playing it while working on my senior project. What got me wasn't the flight school though. It was the rc plane mission. I struggled with that for the longest time before I finally got fed up with it and quit. I'm surprised that my controller survived. The other big one for me is Super Return of the Jedi on SNES. Strangely enough, I've beaten Super Star Wars and Super Empire Strikes Back (which took me 21 years to finish.) Past that, Jurassic Park on Sega Genesis (the goddamn boat level), Tomba on PS1, and Ghostbusters on Sega Genesis. That's my big five. What would be cool is hearing about what games you've beaten that had big gaps for whatever reason. Mass Effect took me three years. It wasn't because I had a hard time getting into it, it was because other games would come out that I was really looking forward to like Mortal Kombat 9 and Max Payne 3. I've managed to finish the series three times since then but my god, I took way too long...

I was watching a video on KZfaq channel talking about the hardest missions and the RC Plane was mentioned. That RC Plane originated with Vice City. It took me the longest to master that stage. I never quite made it that far on my quest. That Jedi game is so fun. Played it when it first came out but as I started to progress I noticed the challenge. Didn't finish it either. That is a great subject to dive into. Already started thinking of things to come up with. I was so deep into both Max Payne and Mass Effect that I beat those games right away. Now Max Payne 3 was the most challenging for me.

@@GameFreak4Ever Max Payne 3 catches a lot of flak for taking place in South America instead of New York, among other things, but as far as I'm concerned it's just as good as the first two. I've given the game a handful of playthroughs and managed to beat it on hard mode. It definitely feels like the difficulty was ramped up a little when it comes to the hoard-like encounters that you run into every once in a while. Needless to say, Max took quite a few unglamorous bullets to the face.

Yes it was easily the hardest out of the three. When I was in the club during the opening scene I could definitely feel my ass being handed to me. lol I was cool with the change of location. I still have the game. I remember the release of the game and people found a way to complain about the little things. His bald head, attire, visual effects but looking back none of that matters. I beat that game too but not on hard mode.

@@GameFreak4Ever I think that a lot of the criticisms that were thrown at the game were based more on expectations than actual content. There was a long wait and because of that people tend to "fan theorize" a little too much and when it's different from what they expect or want they throw it to the wolves. Personally, I loved it from the get-go. It also came out the same day as Diablo 3 and I remember standing out front of Best Buy waiting to go in. Out of about 10 people I was the only one that was like, "yeah, I'm here for Max Payne 3..."

If I had to compile a list of 5 game that I enjoy, which I have not beaten, it would be: Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Complete - I haven't been able to beat the last boss. It keeps on healing itself when I think I have it beat. Parasite Eve - Did not get past the last boss. It's been over 20 years so I need to give it another go. Strider - Getting through the drill heads in the last stage is a pain and I do not use continues. I always do one credit plays and then start over. Blazing Lazers - I never beaten the last boss. The difficulty really ramps up in the last level and I lose a ton of lives, so if i make it, I will be severely underpowered. Contra, without the 30 lives code or continuing - I would like to do achieve this someday.

OMG....Parasite Eve is straight 🔥🔥🔥 Even though its old I still love the game. Strider is classic. I stayed at the arcades and loved the port to Sega Genesis. Great list of games there.

Damn, jak 1 was my favorite out the trilogy, i like the flow of the first one compared to the other two. I never completed jak 2. And I also never completed infamous 2.

I've completed 3 out of the 5 that you mentioned. Now the last two are some of my favorite games. Saints Row the Third is my favorite out of the series. A remastered version just released as well.
