What a travesty that speech wasn’t actually in the game. There were so many complaints about Connor’s character because people didn’t understand him - and this speech, as well as making the Homestead missions required would have gone such a long way.

Ezio in that last speech describes how we give away our freedoms too gladly, and how we never choose to follow our own path and seek out our own truths. This describes our current world perfectly which is why it has greater meaning.

@@terrencemoldern2756 I’d say they offered more options for different kind of players, while I do agree that it doesn’t make sense for assassins to fight like some barbarians so what I did was I try my best to not use the skills and go fully stealth instead. I have to give it to them that they’re putting effort into bringing back the original mechanics in Valhalla

I was never a big fan of unity not because of everybody else’s reason I hated the fighting it was so much harder and a little different and I kept dying and there was so much things in the map it was impossible to find where I wanted to go

It's not in the remastered version I recently replied all all I got where the cut speech was was music like the original version I'm disappointed they removed it the first time around but they decided not to add it in remaster

Sorry I meant in terms of things like what he’s contributed to the Creed, and his overall philosophy. Not many people even retain what he wrote in the codexes in AC2. What made me say he’s underrated is yes, he’s loved by the AC community but unfortunately due to him not getting as much shine as Ezio (I mean, 4 games c’mon) he just got a major skip for a large part of his life in the mainstream games (outside of books and spin-offs)

I agree only with Bayek. Bayek is so underrated... Ezio and Altair (and maybe Edward) are very popular in the community.

Sadly, Ubisoft will never do that. Or maybe for the best considering the franchise is completely different to other AC games.

I think brotherhood and revelations didn’t do much like they just had an already wise character. AC2 is where ezio started out as a brat and became a man with a wise head on his shoulders whatever. AC has a much bigger impact than brotherhood and revelations I don’t think those 2 should be counted

@@sebastiankillinger2659 The games changed my life. I mean I played them before when they came out, but I was just a kid back then. I've always been a bit of a rebel and I could relate to the characters. But I've always been frustrated because my rigid beliefs always clashed with the people in my life. I was going through a bit of a rough patch this year. One day I decided to play them all again, from AC1 to Unity. Suddenly everything starts to make sense. It was a bit hard shedding my old beliefs, but they did me good and I'm at peace now. To most people, it's just a game with a simple good vs bad scenario. That's why the AC games these days are hardly about the Assassins. The last three games had extremely slow or nonexistent character development, and they barely scratched the surface of the Creed's teachings. For people like us, they're life lessons and a philosophy in itself. I'd like to think that if we were the writers, AC could've been the Star Wars of gaming.

When I first played AC 1 I wasn't old enough to completely understand the whole moral code etc and where it would go from here but I could really relate to altair and the creed and even the villains. Every perspective and conversation was well thought through. In some moments I questioned the assassins, mostly during the confession corridors or when talking to al mualim. It wasn't just black and white and nothing is that easy. Everyone acts with a motive or for a (for him) a right cause. And that's where true emersion comes for me. Struggling, failing, realization, regaining your honor mission by mission, getting wiser, questioning, resisting, etc. his the character development was not reached by any other in my opinion. I can remember while on vacation in italy, we walked across the ponte veccio in florence and I said to my brothher like: woah, imagine playing AC here on these rooftops! and then well.. :) So ezio was nice, and charismatic and I guess Ac is the game I played most but I wasnt in the end quite a fan of that charismatic womanizer. I mean don't get me wrong, he was awesome, but I liked altair more. And sadly for me the only other assassins that came close to altair regarding humbleness through pain and sacrifice for me were connor and bayek. I know a lot of people hated them because of gameplay or other reasons and they're right about that. And the stories got pretty disappointing getting to the end but okay. Like the video said, connors speach at the end still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. how he sees all that happened and he didn't achieve anything, but would never give in! that for me is the true spirit. fighting against the odds, against oppression and tyranny even though it might not change. but history tells us, that the people CAN make a difference, we see it time and time again. and if they wouldn't be afraid to work together we could accomplish anything. But we also need people to show us what is possible, and to believe in us. that for me is connor. a savage outsider. a liberator and leader to freedom. and bayek, well he really believed in the people and his whole purpose was to serve the people of egypt. he struggled, failed many times, got defeated and got his honor and morals questioned many times. he was blinded by revenge first but over time he learned to be calm, to see the greater picture. he tried serving a pharao and chosen leaders, but he learned his lesson. they're corrupt and weak or cruel. he understood that the problems he faces and the suffering he endured are the same for everyone, so he faced his destiny, chose or formulated the tenets to live by over time and fought in the shadows for the freedom of his and all the people. recruited women and men to serve and protect. but he also loved, he laughed, he was a man of passion and feelings. he screamed and gave in to his anger at first while confronting his enemies in the corridors (which to me are the best ones ever made) and then later clamed himself and chose to let the gods decide. also that whole feather thing was just great. a gesture of peace, not of hate. I could really feel every emotion he had. and finally that was in many ways the perfect origin story (best would have been if he did kill every target himself or with aya and if he drew the logo himself from the skull etc. but hey) and those morals and the themes are still more present today then ever. they are so important and I always was like you, a rebel and I have the same mindset, so of course the games struck home with me! and because all that is relevant, I never understood why they cancelled the modern day.. that is just lazy and stupid. having a small modern day plot like in ac3 could have made the whole experience so much better and more believeable.. that it's not just entertainment like they advertise it now, but a inspiring game where the purpose to look into the past for clues is necessary to even play a character from the past.. and the other assassins well.. short: edward to me was no assassin at all, he even killed some of them. exposed them, wore their robes without earning them, was only interested in prizes and gold. did what he wanted, got his friends killed, handed the templars the observatorium (that plot was also poorly written) and at the very very end. he got a realization, but after that he still is just a pirate with no actual cause.. sorry. thats not enough for a assassin game. for a pirate game yes. and yes, the world was beautiful. arno: ac5 had soooo much potential and the world was just amazing. parcour and gameplay has and will never better, yet clunky. and the story did so many things right with the underground assassin temple and rituals etc etc. but in the end the villains and plots could have been more interesting. the whole thomas scene at the start was for example really, really good. altair vibes. arno was humble too but elise threw it all out.. jacob and evie.. no comment.. odyssey is a disgrace and valhalla well.. they could cut the ac stuff from it and it would be a ok game. but nothing in there gave me a real feeling for it. not even the two assassins. or more like, they're just salt in an open wound. that could have been stitched (at least how darbie spoke about it) but they didn't give it mouch attention. and eivor is like edward. not really interested in anything than pillaging and building a settlement lol and thanks for saying all that, I really feel the same way. With a liiittle bit of work, every character in every story of every game could have been interesting. we could have done that.

@@sebastiankillinger2659 I thought Edward leaves for England at the end of the game and joins the British Assassin Brotherhood. He doesn't go back to pirating. Though I agree it wasn't an AC game for the most part. I liked the story, but the pacing is dreadfully slow. The same reason I didn't like AC Origins that much. Except Origins' storytelling and character development wasn't as subtle as it should've been. And the "origin" part was extremely rushed at the end. And all those gods and monster boss battles done it for me. That was the final nail in the coffin for the AC franchise LOL. Ubisoft keeps screwing it up and says they did it for the fans, because they themselves have no idea what to do with it. Instead of building on, fixing and improving what made the games unique, they just scrapped them entirely. I also agree with Unity. The foundation was solid, the subject matter and characters were perfect. There were so much parallels with Altair's story, like the Assassin/Templar romance, an Assassin being a major villain, the country being in a state of war and whatnot. Bellec's death was cut very short. If only he wasn't sloppy to cover up Mirabeau's murder, killed a few more Assassin Mentors, systematically dismantled the order to rebuild it and blamed it on Elise, it would've made for a much more compelling story. Also, the revolution bit was barely touched upon. It was explained that the Templars fueled it so that people would see the chaos and willingly let an iron fist rule over them, but it seemed like it was just there in the background with no real purpose. But in tone and setting, it was the closest to AC1. I'm no longer into the franchise, all I do is just come back and watch the old videos because those are all that's left of it. Hopefully one day Ubisoft goes bankrupt or something and sells the franchise to someone capable lmao.
