I wonder if it would be possible to make a clock from the second example, the pendulum replaced by the clapping strips. Would the timing be different if the acrylic posts were further apart? Very cool stuff Robert Thanks for sharing.

By increasing the distance between the two electrodes for a few millimeters, the speed decreases, but beyond a certain distance everything is canceled.

I have toyed with this concept using a much larger HV source, and the LEDs fried after a relatively short interlude. Did you find the same?

So how long does it take the clapper caps to completely run out and stop the clapping? Seemed like there was still a significant charge left when you discharged.. so guessing hours maybe?

wait, that electrostatic oscillator is dangerous? but Plasma channel did 1 million volts Tesla coil and show how to build it from an electric lighter, and Styropyro build even way crazier than that, why you can't do it with several capacitors and 20KV?...also I remember those capacitors are in series, or am I wrong?

The capacitors resist because there is the absorption of the bulbs which lower the voltage.

@@ElectricExperimentsRobert33 can I ask a serious question? How is the film 2:00-3-00 battery not connected to the bottom of the battery? For electricity to work u need a pos and neg. in ur video u are never connected to a proper negative. Or in my opinion a positive where u are getting the real 17 volt spikes??? Is it not possible to use a battery from one side only. C mon man.

@@russyork313 The 3 V battery It has a power and a constant over time. Generally, led bulbs have an internal circuit that provides a minimum current to function. In case it connects with a high voltage generator with low current intensity, the internal circuit adjusts the right voltage to work. It doesn't work with a filament bulb

@@m3sca1 it is strange that only with 8W flashes. Perhaps it would be better to put two 4W or 2 6W bulbs as seen in the video. Is the battery 18650 and is it charged?

@@ElectricExperimentsRobert33 i used the larger lithium cell. It wasn't freshly topped up but was good voltage. 3.7v i may try it on 5v power supply and measure how much current it makes...and what does the waveform from the lamp look like now the sting is gone?

@@m3sca1 it must work with 18650 battery as well, you just need to charge it more. If the no-load voltage is 3.7 V, but if it is not charged it is useless.

@@ElectricExperimentsRobert33 - Cool. One could easily make a timer and pulse(charge) the cap couple of times an hour. I say this could run for months on one battery perhaps even a year or so. Neat stuff! Love your channel. Thanks for the great videos.
