Great quick video. Never had problem hand holding it myself, but will take you up on using tripod. Love your sense of humour and because of that I've subscribed as well as the good content.

Thanks! Sometimes, I find a tripod can just ensure an evenness to a pan (and it helps create repeatable moves too), just another idea. Where it can work very well is up and down movements because when doing this yourself with your wrists or arms, you tend to tilt the camera. If you rise and fall with your knees, you get a lateral movement - or, if you have a tripod with a centre-column that doesn't rotate, you can get some very straight lines. Great for trees.

No. Manual or Shutter priority settings. Bulb will massively complicate it. You need 1/4 or 1/12 second. It can be done at any slower shutter speed, but you really need to set that and worry about the movement only.

Some cameras especially mirrorless have both mechanical and electronic shutters. Think he's referring to using your mechanical shutter here.

Interesting question. Can I recommend you watch this video which discusses the technique of "lingering" and has some important information relating to how the image is captured. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kL17f6VyuqfDkWg.htmlsi=zWJW-0SEDx-A9qKC This will shed some "light" on the subject. Whilst I haven't tried this, my expectation is that the result will be similar to what you would get with a long exposure and a burst of flash (assuming there's movement in the frame). Always remember, you can only ADD light to an image and a flash burst is quite likely to create over-exposure. ICM is very-much experimental photography. Load those AA cells and get to it. I would be interested in what you make. But, do watch that video. It covers the light addition point quite comprehensively.
