If my knowledge isn't incorrect A concert piano is capable of covering every note in an orchestra.... So theoretically it is capable of replacing every instrument although the sound itself may be slightly different

This is exactly why I love playing canon so much. The court progression/structure plus the fact that it’s written in the key of D originally makes it so fun to play and all allows anyone with a basic understanding of the songs foundation to be able to add their own touching bedazzle in their own way. Now this level… That’s a different story… This is the level of bringing dishes to the potluck lol.

I love it! I cried a little. My oldest sister just died of cancer New Year’s Eve 2021. Music (especially piano) was one of our biggest connections. I feel like she is still here when I listen to your music. She was pretty good and always said to challenge oneself. 🙏 best therapy ever.

Just watched/listened to this piece of music. Told my wife this was impressive, she stated it was a game. I replied, game or not this is incredible. I watched it twice and then played it for her in it's entirety. She said she was very impressed and that is all you can hope for when showing something like this to anyone. Incredible performance. Thank you for the video and for your efforts, it is very much appreciated. Bravo.

Level 1: Canon in D Level 2: A canon in D major Level 3: An accompanied canon played in the note of D major Level 4: A melody with several imitations after a set duration, played in the note classified as D major by Pachelbel Level 5: A contrapuntal type of composition with a melody with several iterations of the melody after a given period of time, played in the D note, composed by Johann Pachelbel.

being a canon it starts easy and then adds layers upon layers, so the progress is intentional and already composed into the script. thus canon is best with orchestra, not just one instrument; unless you can fetch an organ, all registers blazing :D

Level 3 is easy, IMHO, it was where I started playing Piano, I can't do 5... yet :) takes a LOT of practice to hit the notes right lol

Canon is one of those rare pieces that I always find sounds better the simpler it is. The intermediate version is my favourite.

Agreed. Canon in D is so simple. As the Pacabel Rant guy who played cello was so bored b/c he played the same 8 notes over and over. It's that simple. 8 notes. And in those 8 notes, musicians can endlessly create variations.

I liked and subbed just for the editors notes during the 5th level. Truly my favorite period piece, I can't help but emote when listening, and have listened incessantly for over a decade. Brilliant work friend, such wonderful exploration of a gorgeous tune.

@SolySamsung TrollySamsung You do not need to know how to play a piano in a figurative sense to be able to play level 1. You could teach a 3 year old to play a single note melodic+harmonic line. If you are physically capable, then the only thing stopping you from learning level 1 is that you don't want to learn.

Umm actually it is being done...and has been done for years. One must remember that there have been advanced pianists for hundreds of years. I am somewhat shocked to hear people in awe over what is called level 5. It's been around a long time.

Level 4 sounds best to me! Level 5 is an incredibly impressive display of skill but ultimately there's just too much going on for me, maybe im not refined enough yet to appreciate its complexity! Love it :D

I want the full Level 4 piece. To me, that is just perfect, to describe: that point between rage and serenity lol. Level 5 showcases skills that is simply out of this world but kind of distorts the piece a little too far from the original and sounds exhausting to my ears. Sorry but it's just me lol.
