I bought this, and I absolutely love it. Sounds better than any plugin I ever owned. Only problem is, that even though I just bought an Apollo 16 a few months ago, I can only run a few of these until my DSP limit is maxed out. A stereo instance of this, eats 70% of a DSP, and the Apollo 16 is only a Quad. Yes, true modeling takes a lot of DSP, but when it seems my brand new Apollo 16 is out-of-date right out of the box. And it kills my urge to buy more plugins now. I would be really nice if UAD came up with some sort of special offer to buy extra DSP for new customers.

They're running a special now for the quad satellite for $699 or octo satellite for $999. $500 off until June 30th I think. I feel your pain cause I'm only running a Apollo twin duo lol. You can also try disabling dsp loadlock to save more dsp.

I had to buy an OCTO to run this and the AMS properly, but given I'm simulating a state of the art 80s studio for that money I don't think it's too bad. Only the UAD plugs get there in terms of real quality - the 1176 compressor is the same too. I'm happy but as ever in music it costs money. As long as the clients keep on paying it all works out....

same here but we have the apollo twin x duo and we can only run a few of them but the legacy version we can run up to like 10-12 We wish it didn't take up so much DSP! The satellite octo can run these with no issues! Might have to get one eventually! Besides it eating up the DSP it sounds amazing and the legacy version sounds good too! We just purchased them a few days ago! If you purchase the one in the video it also comes with the legacy version too!

The Mix sounds flat. It is something like when you are selling Sauce, and when you add Sauce to rice, bread, chicken , milk just to demonstrate that you have a good sauce.

Love ssl! Juat wish this plugin was bigger, very fiddlly - would love it to get updated with a/b, undo, sidechain, and most importantly the values on the knobs! For now waves and ssl native are my alternatives for now because of this

I'm interested in the "You could/can" verbiage. It seems like Andy at Pro Guitar Shop has pioneered the "You could" language, now other people are using it. It doesn't seem like proper English to me, but it has a distinct flavor.

There is no attack knob in the compressor section. Does anyone know why?

By default the attack is program dependent and ranges between 3ms - 30ms depending on the signal being compressed. There's also a fixed 'fast' attack mode that sets the attack time to 3ms.

how NOT to demonstrate a plugin. all that talk about the realism of an SSL console in the apollo & then your actual mix demonstration sounds like garbage. washed out, muddy & phase cancelled.

adding these plug ins makes it sound really small. either thre recording is really bad or something went rong. the drums sound really bad and overkompressd. this video is defenetly garage level.
