I have a newfound respect for the Zomboid devs after hearing that they lost all that code. Despite such a major setback they've still managed to create one of if not the most in depth Apocalypse sims ever.

i like the fact that money and credit cards are still included in the game. i think it symbolizes how useless it all is once society collapses and we're to fend for ourselves

It would be amazing to be able to play an instrument, perhaps lower certain moodles like boredom or unhappiness. I would also like a skill bar to level up increasing the quality of music... I mean this game is already often referred to as the sims with zombies, lets just go all in.

They lost about a months worth of work on the game when the laptops were stolen that is a lot of man hours of time, the game is taking so long to make because they have redid the engine and a lot of other process and the amount of details in this game large and very small is insane. They are very dedicated people though and care about putting out an amazing game and I have nothing but respect for them and this game. The level of customization along with every single detail makes it one of the most immersive games I personally have ever played in my 30 years of gaming. Once this game gets to the 1.0 release we will have something truly epic and will be a game to remember for many many years to come. The amount of people who have put hundreds/thousands of hours into this game and it isn't even finish yet and is still missing major features is a testament to that. They could call the game finished now and people would still be able to play forever and ever on this because of how much is cramed into the game already and the next update is going to be something else, I am very excited to see the animals and eventually the NPCs. Another amazing fact is the modding community. The people who mod this game are amazing people, the amounts of weapons, cars, clothes, hair styles, food, literally anything you want can be done basically along with locations that are as well done as any professional level designer would do. If you made it to the end of this huge wall of text, want to say thank you for reading and thank you for being a part of this amazing community you all are an amazing fact as well, so much less toxic than most other communities.

Contrary to popular belief there is actually at least one VHS tape in the game that gives weapon xp. So far I have only found the "Mother's Boy" VHS to grant some Short Blade XP but the fact it exists could mean others exist.

I'm surprised staplers are useless in Zomboid. When I played I first though they could be used as a make shift suture device or something.

There`s also the piano - though ofc you can`t use it to club the dead as with the other instruments. Also - you can actually play these instruments it`s just not something from the vanilla game. I think it was more than one mod even.

I will say that time spent on reading each skill book is not useless: especially in earpy game, if you need to level up some skills before the water plumbing goes down or electricity is gone, it's good to knowhow many books you'll need to read and how much time sink need to be spent before you get caught with your pants down.

Money can be used if you subscribe to a mod that gives you vending machines that if you put money to it, you can exchange it for weapons, ammo, mags, health and what else have you. Also I think the jewelry is way more useless.

There are mods that let you play the acoustic guitar and banjo. There's another mod that lets you pretend play the other guitar-like instruments, but as far as I know, no sound actually comes out
