Another thing that a lot of people, myself included, should do when buying new boots is that if you're able to, wear the right socks. If you're not, it might trick you into thinking you're getting the wrong size. Wear socks made to wear for football. They're a lot different than regular socks.

As a Messi fan, I always wanted to buy the Speedportal.1. I visited the store to try them in true-to-size, half down, full down, half up, and full up but none felt comfortable. After three visits, I bought the Copa Pure+ and boy, they are so fine on my feet. Wore them for 8 games, and I went to the store again to try out the new Mercurials and fell in love. Bought the XXV, true-to-size, and I noticed my ball controls and speed are much better in the mercs. Maybe a placebo effect but that’s what I felt. So, if you can, always visit the store to try the boots out even if you’re not buying. Especially because Adidas and Nike have different sizing 😂 - I use the Japanese sizing as my baseline (27.0cm). Oh, and always bring your favorite socks that you wear on the pitch to the store! Make sure they’re clean ❤ Great video as always! 🎉

I've ordered and received the Puma Future Z 1.4 (fearless) last week and they're just half a size to big at my toes. When I was at home I really thought it wouldn't be a problem. Now I've played one time on them and I think I can't send them back anymore. Stupid me..

I have never found soccer cleats or boots that fit me haha. I have some wide feet and they seem to either be to small or wide enough and too long and too slim. Plus i dont have money out the back to drop on shoes so I get to deal with bad fits lol

For some guys interested in the Puma line, consider the womans options aswell. They generally have a higher midfoot and a thinner ankle. It definitely fits my feet better and it might do the same for you

Do you think the new mercs may fight me perfectly if the previous model for example the superfly 7 elite fit me half a size big length wise but overall felt fine.(size 10.5) The midfoot was slightly wide because I have more than narrow feet. But the main reason why I even went half a size up with the superfly 7 elite was because the toe area was tight as my toes tend to have an arch type lift to them if that makes sense 😂. Very subtle but since I heard the toe box is boxy in the new mercs I’d like to finally take the risk of going true to size. (10). Im at a very complicated point in choosing boots because of this reason.

@ev1627 I have regular, don't have many issues with a lot of shoes only thing is my right foot feels a bit smaller than my left so I can feel more room in my right shoe but grip socks help a lot with that

Well if you want us to try them first at home, and send them back incase they are to big or dont fit. Then dont have a return fee. It quickly adds up. And what do you do if Unisport dont offer the boot you want in AG version? But then boot does exist in AG?

I prefer the Puma Future since they make me feel better because my instep is very arched and the sock of the Future is perfect and adapts to the instep.

I’m a winger/forward and decided to go with mercurials because that’s what most of the pros in my position use and boy was that a mistake, boots are way too narrow for my feet. The phantoms ended up being the best fit for me.

Is the change of pace really the most effective dribble move? As in the title. Just curious. When I'm defending, I don't really have a problem with someone doing step-overs or other skills. But when someone runs straight at me slowly and suddenly explodes in one direction, I'm frozen and the opponent has already accelerated too much to catch up. Anyone share the same experience ? Is it the explosion of speed that freezes ? I watched T.Henry's interview and he told me that this is basically the best move you can do, you just freeze your opponent with lightning acceleration. So as a winger can it work and be effective for me ?

The sizing is do confusing. I'm a true size 8.5 in men for regular shoes. But for my football boots, 9.5 in men fit perfectly.(Adidas) But i wanna buy some Nike football boots and idk if i should go 9.5 since they fit true to size on my adidas boots but what if its a size too big on the Nike boot since im 8.5. IDK for Nike if i should stick with 8.5 or 9.5. cuz the adidas 8.5 was waay to tight for me even though im true 8.5. So confusing cuz everyone says true to size and I'm not really believing that

okay so im a size 44eu i went and got vapor 15 academy size 44. i got blisters under my big toe the size of a cherry and my heels (achilles) were scratched up so bad they started to peel and bleed. played with them for 3 matches, practiced with them and tried breaking them down with hot water and nothing changed. i considering getting phantom gx academy, should i go true to size? or try for 0.5 or even 1 up?

Personally I don’t recommend ordering a bunch of shoes then returning the ones that don’t fit. 1. Because some return policies may have you pay for shipping in order to return. And 2. For environmental reasons.

A tip to almost guarantee the perfect size is to use EUR (Europe) or JPN (centimetre size) as these are more accurate than the US and UK so you can get the size you want.

I have 26cm feet so will it be fine if i buy 26.5cm football boots? Because after i asked some of my friends and did a research online it was normal to have a bit of a space on the toebox and i should leave roughly a finger gap in the toe box to avoid injuries

You should buy 26.5cm boots. With my knowledge of boots, when I got a pair that fit me exactly it wasn't a good experience as my foot would usually hurt after 20 minutes of playing. If you get some boots with space, it will be much easier to play with. But it also depends on whether your foot will continue growing or not. But if it isn't, definitely get some space in the boot.@@sotongmenari3759

Nike's size guide suggests that for a 27cm foot (my size) you would wear a US 9 / UK 8 / EU 42.5. In any shoe, I would typically wear a UK 9. In fact, the UK 9 of nike boots feels pretty tight, I definitely couldn't go any smaller. Anyone else experienced this?

I got the Phantom Gt2 in a size 8.5 US (42 EU) and it destroyed my toes because my toes are stupid and point straight up. The rest of the boot isn't tight at all, I only have the problem in the toes, even though I still have room in the front of the toes. I had to do the hot water trick and now they're ok. My actual question is: what should I do if/when I buy a pair of Mizunos? The leather will probably be more comfortable for my weird toes, but since usually you should go half a size down, should I stick with the 8.5 (cuz of my toes) or go down to 8? I also play on AG so i don't really know if the regular Mizuno boots are safe or if I should get the AG version (even thought there are no MIJ ones for AG...)

I have the exact same issue 😂 I’ve tried mercs and I always have to go a size up from my normal true to size 10. My toes have like a arch lift type of form and it feels tight but the length is too long and the midfoot is too wide 😂

I bought some nike mercurial academy model, and trying them on from the box was the perfect fit, then using them on the pitch made them horrible. The ancle on the shoes were pressing on my ancle and made it impossible to walk in. Dont buy them.
