In this video, Fernando Cortez, former MLB Middle Infielder shares the 5 baseball hitting drills he did during his MLB and MiLB career to get him locked in and ready to hit! He now uses these same hitting drills with players he trains who have certain swing deficiencies. You can steal these baseball hitting drills from Fernando and use them today (and consistently thereafter) just like he did to improve your hitting and stay consistent. Just remember, not all hitting drills are made for everyone. Identify your specific problems and issues and use hitting drills that will help you correct those specific swing flaws.

Great video..my son has been rolling over, short swing, rotating shoulder out for a good year. Loved what this x major leaguer just did. Perfect for my kid. He built in some fun at the also. Thanks dude.

Fantastic teacher. That 2nd drill is awesome - expanding the path of the bat, staying through the ball. Something to teach young kids especially, who often roll over almost automatically. I should have waited until the end of the video to comment. That last drill/game of trying to hit the ball off another tee is great. Kids would love that.

Thanks a lot for this video! FC, I really appreciate how you explained when and why you use specific drills. I also like to hear that your teaching methodology is parallel with mine as it is not cookie cutter. Each hitter is different and you’re not trying to create a swing. Yet looking for “holes” in the swing so that it can be addressed, in which, the issue is almost always very minute. Keep up the great work, both of you, and stay safe 🙏🏽💯⚾️

Kids listen to this man! Nice seeing a coach teaching hitting this way. Antonelli may want to learn what a good hitting coach looks like. Also, Ron Sullivan has nothing but great videos up. Remember, short to the ball and long through.

Love the game with the ball on the tee at the opposite end of the cage. Such an easy way to groove a center-based swing and the kids always have fun with it

I copied Tony's philosophy of hitting, practice, watch your own swing, watch others swing, pitcher's pitch, and studied more film than has watched by the public of Steven Spielberg's movies. He astutely studied the swing and was the best student of baseball that I have ever heard or seen. He is my baseball idol after Cobb.

So high school baseball just started up again and I’ve been grinding this whole summer lifting getting my swing down and everything was perfect. But as soon a high school started I literally couldn’t put the ball out of the infield. I just wanna know if this is normal or if I need to work harder

SuperCRUNCH don’t try to do too much! stay in ur swing and don’t try too hard. i have a problem of trying to make a huge impression on my coach and ending up doing the opposite. stick to YOUR swing and go for singles. good luck

Matt Vibbert I believe so, yes but only if they are swinging it correctly. We don’t want to create bad habits just for the sake of doing drills.
