Hey Jenn..I’m currently in my 30’s and I wish I knew this when I was in my 20’s😅 Lucky are those that are watching this while they are in their 20’s. As a Bank employee this channel has changed how I assist clients, I always try to position products for the benefit of the client and really put the clients need first

I don't trust them, or any service they try to offer telephonically. A lady from the bank called me some time ago to offer me a product of theirs, boy did she try to force a yes or no from me on the spot. I said I need to think about it, and she became hostile. I'm sure she was under pressure to make a sale.

Thank you for your videos. Definitely very informative 👌🏾. What I wish I knew was my why… I invested but as soon as I saw R100k profit I withdrew to buy some furniture or anything like that. I’d pay off the car quickly only box the excess amount on clothes and entertainment. I had no why, my money bored. And bored money is gone money 🥲. We live and learn though.

Banks are not our friends indeed and it’s crazy how sales people are not honest with us. I was tricked into overdraft, I’ve heard of it before but how it was explained to me was not clear. I did overspend not aware coz I was seeing money in my account, I was surprised to be on a negative then I went straight to bank so they explained it to me and I requested there and then to cancel. Money language can trick you if you don’t know it.

Yes banks use complicated language and it’s easy to find yourself in a situation you do not understand. I was once convinced to get a more advanced account because of my salary, quickly realised how much I was paying on charges and dis I not go back fast to downgrade.

I love the comment from Befree, baby steps helps so much. Dave’s content helped me out, seeing those people screaming ‘debt free’ was motivation I needed to keep going. Start with one debt at a time.

We learned that banks are not our friends when we asked for a loan to build a house. We had some money saved up and they basically ended up offering to loan us our own money AND charge us interest on it!
