Hijackals are worst on holidays in my world. So i don't visit my son at holidays anymore . If i stayed with him he is manipulative, takes jabs , controlling . Now i send a card . If i visit i get a hotel so i am in control. I only visit for 2 days tops . Distance is best and short doses .

Dr. Shaler you are spot on with hijackels. I am a mother of one and I pray that she will get help for herself but it seems like that will never happen. Which breaks my heart. The destruction that she has caused in our family especially with her children is painful to witness. Thank you very much for your podcasts you are a blessing.

14:40 what they accuse you of is what they are guilty of....it's the premise of projection

Unless these people have been raised by either absolutely treacherous parents, in my opinion, it’s next to impossible for me to believe that these people can become the way they become by their parental influences. Everyone always wants to blame parents for everything. It’s really sad and destructive, and in the end solves nothing. I just went through the 3rd ruined Christmas holiday in a row because of my hijackal’s out of control behaviour. Over the last 3 1/2 years, after the police had been called because of their behaviour too many times to count, they finally saw for themselves the extent to which my hijackal was capable of going to before FINALLY removing them from my home. They asked me if I wanted to press charges for assault upon seeing what she did to me, and I finally had the courage to say YES. And she is NEVER coming back into my life. And it has nothing to do with forgiveness…it has to do with trust. I cannot trust her intentions for helping me to protect myself and maintain my safety in any way. It is heartbreaking to know that you are dirt to your only child - but I didn’t break her, so I can’t fix her.

What happens if my hijackle is making up examples of me being nasty and rude? Some times he makes it up, and some times he distorts reality of what had happened. What do I do then? I wish you lots of health Dr. Rhoberta! I found you a few days ago and i thank the lord for it!❤
