Have a bottle of Woodford Double Oaked. Kind of a dessert/Winter bourbon for me. I had a bottle of then 1910 and found that it changed for the better once it sat for a couple months after opening and poured past the shoulder. Also I just picked up the Elijah Craig Toasted for $ 44.95 here in the Pasadena CA area. You’re right, not a true double oaked but crushable, especially for the price.

I don't know if this qualifies, but Dexter a three wood, Oak, Maple,and Cherry wood blend is one I keep on hand at all times. Cheers 🍻

Any time i hear a whiskey tuber use the word "grainy" its usually just a nice way of meaning young, below average tasting product. Fred Minnick says he likes "grainy" and call it "craft" but that's just pissing on my leg and telling me its raining.

So toasted and double oak are pretty much the same?

Wouldn't say the same thing as they offer a completely different profile, but the process is somewhat similar once you transfer the bourbon to an additional cask. Basically lokexthe do with the EC toasted. Cheers buddy 🥃

@@mybourbonjourney I already Love Woodford Reserve double Oaked & Old Forester 1910 ,( I’m on my 3rd bottle 😉), and the Elijah Craig Toasted I’ve tried most of their products delicious. I’m interested in the double Oaked rye and lucky seven

Double oak cheers to you Scott. There is a Cedar Ridge DO pick coming up at a local store. It will be delicious. I just picked up a Toasted/Double oak Starlight pick from Starks in Prairie Du Chien on Friday. It is quite delicious. Starlight does such a nice job with their finishes. Keep up the good work!

Great review. The Penelope Toasted is pretty good and I would love to be able to get a bottle or a pour of the 13th Colony Double Oaked that will be released soon. I have the Peerless Double Oaked, which is okay, but more expensive. 🥃

Saw a chicken cock double oaked for 50-60 dollars really don't know much about that brand. And being from Ohio I believe middle West has a double oaked version? Nice list and Woodford is a classic yes we all wish it had a higher abv but it is what it is! Enjoy!!
