Might be your best yet. Hilarious intro, but honestly the end portion - where you open up about your past failures - is the best part. Your openness is invaluable, I feel like I’m listening to a real person.

In my first startup i definitely made mistake number 5. I learnt the hard way that this notion of "build it and they will come" maybe only works for shopping malls but rarely for SaaS products.

Love the video, well edited and super valuable insights, much appreciated! but Id like to remark, building tons of new products quickly and "playing the lottery" is so much more fun for technical founders. It keeps you exploring and especially learning a huge amount in short time. I think the boost in motivation can be worth taking that approach.

I just can't understand how these companies can make so much profit with SaaS that are sold at subscriptions of $19-$99 per month. I have tried to sell several cheap products and subscriptions on the internet, with several different marketing strategies, and I invested up to $100 a day, and many times I didn't even make sales. In my mind, it is impossible to profit from cheap SaaS subscriptions by spending on ads, unless it is organically or by charging high ticket subscriptions. If someone can clear my mind, I would appreciate it, and it would make me go ahead with my idea of creating a SaaS.

Our product are sold well on enterprise and government. But when we convert it to B2C SaaS, It was not as good as B2B. Our product is a low code solution that sync to legacy app. Anyone here who wants to be part of our team or maybe a co-founder that know SaaS well are very welcoming.

Thank you for sharing Simon. For marketing, do you have an in-house marketing assistant to help you, do you run all the ads yourself, or use an agency? If you hired someone, what type of person do you hire on Upwork? I tried but only found professionals looking for one and done jobs, a lot of scammers on the SEO side that just send you a ton of printscreens with no analysis. I end up doing those things mostly myself, haven't found a way to find reliable collaborators for marketing yet. any tips on how to do that?

Hey! Here’s a friendly advice from a YT consultant. Stop the J cuts and do normal cuts. You’re doing really great in everything, and I really appreciate your content, but oh man, those Js…

@SimonHoiberg Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I kinda like them, though. Without them, the cuts get kinda "stumpy." But feedback heard, of course 😊
@Ovidiu-Matei
@Ovidiu-Matei Жыл бұрын
@@SimonHoiberg I've noticed them from the very first video I saw from your channel. On the first cuts, I said interesting, but til the end of the video, they became annoying. I'm giving you this advice because I am really conscious of the amount of effort you're putting in to create these videos, and this is my value I can offer in exchange for the one you provide. J cuts usually work on more cinematic videos, storytelling, when you have lots of b-roll coming in & out. On talking heads, it's a bit akward because you see the person talking, then stopping, making a pause, and oftenly that pause is longer than the general viewer expects, making it a lil unnatural. Ps. I have 6 years of yt experience and looking to build a SaaS within this niche. Wish me luck!

Hey Simon, I'm looking to avoid a fuck up of my own, for instance I want to make sure my API security is to a great standard before I launch. How are you securing your applications, for instance are you using JWT? OAuth? Would love to see what you are doing with your SaaS products. Cheers
@SimonHoiberg
@SimonHoiberg Жыл бұрын
Security is super important - and it's also important to *not* attempt implementing security modules yourself if you don't know what you're doing! I don't - for example. So I use AWS Cognito for authentication, DynamoDB to securely store data, AWS API Gateway to handle secure API connections, Stripe to handle payment, etc.
@x2TruNation
@x2TruNation Жыл бұрын
Awesome, I really appreciate the reply and can see you’re a huge fan of using the AWS services, I’ll take a look into this as it would be less work on my side if i used these too :)
@aberba
@aberba 6 ай бұрын
Are you offering an API like stripe does or do you mean an internal API for your mobile app for example? API as a Service involves using an API secret with whatever API key validation like stripe,etc. For the Internal API, any of the above mentioned is fine. JWT is stateless, Oauth, isn't

But if we launch an idea quickly to test the market what is a good way to avoid what happened to Danny and levels with Lensa from happening to us since we are starting from the bottom street level as far as capital goes. I don't mind competition but they got blasted off the planet in a way that one hopes one could avoid or is that wishful thinking?
@SimonHoiberg
@SimonHoiberg Жыл бұрын
That's always a risk. Whether you go to market fast, or after a long time of building, competitors might come. But if you go to market fast, at least you're not potentially wasting a lot of time building something no one wants.
