Dr. Steven Dilka, a physiatrist with West Park Healthcare Centre's amputee and musculoskeletal (MSK) services answers 5 questions on the eve of his departure to the 2022 Paralympics in China.
The Beijing Paralympics will be the last Games for Dr. Dilkas as national team physician for the Canadian Wheelchair Curling Team and the Canadian Senior Men’s and Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Teams.
Dr. Dilkas has an extensive portfolio in the sports rehabilitation field and has joined several West Park alumni at a multitude of competitive games, including the 2015 and 2019 Parapan Am Games with Jamoi Anderson, Jason Naval, and Jesse Buckingham in Sitting Volleyball.
In 2017, Dr. Dilkas gained experience as the co-Chief Medical Officer for the Invictus Games, and the esteemed physician is currently Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario (CSIO).
