In regards to story #1, I grew up along Lake Gogebic in Michigan. I have spent years along that shore line, fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming, etc. I was there in the timeline mentioned in the story. Never once did I ever feel unsafe near the water during any activity, nor have I ever seen anything odd, strange or out of the ordinary on the water. Now the woods, that's a different story for another time. lol

Imagine how confused that critter was when it got grabbed by him, instead of running away he grabbed it. Must have been quite peculiar to the monster.

My biggest fear is loosing another baby. I got pregnant at age 20. I also caught an STD from the father. Because of that and all the stress I was under and getting sick, I lost my baby. That was 10 years ago and it took me years to come out of this really dark place, because I blamed myself, even though there was nothing I could of done. It wasn't a day I didn't cry over my child. There were times I just wanted to die so I could be with my child. So I thought about suicide a lot. The pain never goes away, you just learn to live with it. But my new male partner and I are going to try and have a baby of our own, god will. So, wish me luck. :D

Amendment - 3-4 seem really fake. When people have experiences like this the most vivid thing they remember is how they feel during it, not what their friends "whispered under their breath". In addition real accounts have much more detail like actually where it took place(that's something that could not be forgotten if someone encountered a cryptid).. Still the first two stories were worth it.

My fear is probably more specific to me than most fears people would think of. It is rooted in my own past experience, though I'm guessing I'm far from alone in this fear. My greatest fear is needlessly dying due to the callous assumptions of ER doctors and other medical professionals. I seem to have found more medical incompetence in my life than I could have ever imagined possible before. The main reason for this fear is the year and a half I was allowed to suffer in every increasing occurrence and severity. I'd been approved for SSI but had spent an entire year trying to find a doctor who was willing to accept a new Medicaid patient. During this time, I'd begun to experience severe pain in my stomach and couldn't hold down ANYTHING whether it was food or drink. After a few days of laying in the fetal position in my bed, my mom would drag me to the closest ER. (My record time spent in the waiting room was about eleven hours.) They would start an IV since I was dehydrated then immediately inject Demerol and Phenergan into said IV. Only after these two steps would they send me for X-Rays. (For those of you who are familiar, you probably already know why this was incredibly against protocol at any other ER. For those who don't, both those drugs cause everything in the body to relax. You just DON'T treat a patient without first doing X-Rays since the drugs can cause the problem not to show up.) Sure enough, they'd come into my exam room and insist nothing looked abnormal in the tests. They'd usually send me home. After the first two or so visits, the judgement began. Both I and my mom were told by MANY staff members (from doctors to nurses to aides) that "There's nothing wrong with you/her. You/She are/is just a junkie looking for a fix." I was livid! On the odd occasion, I would be admitted for "further tests", yet it was always the same thing. Since I didn't have a doctor still, my care would be handled by, as I called them, the little gaggle of LSU interns. They'd keep me as long as a few days and would often order a CAT scan. Still, they said they saw nothing, all the while shooting me up with those same VERY strong drugs. When forced to go to ER, I would beg them not to give me drugs until AFTER the X-Rays. They always ignored this. By the end, I was back on a weekly basis. Once again, I was admitted. I had come to feel that this would be the rest of my life - hell on earth, short periods of relief due to the drugs, a couple days of normal life then the hell would return. This time, something happened. As usual, the little gaggle were clustered between my bed and the outer door. As usual, the head doctor explained they saw nothing on the CAT scan results before the disapproving tone insisting there was nothing wrong with me. "Just a junkie looking for a fix." was uttered. By now both my mom and I were exhausted and annoyed and more than a little afraid. Yet we could tell something was different. One of the "gaggle" looked upset at his words and tone. She didn't say anything, but you could just tell she wasn't fawning over him the way the others were, acting like anything he said MUST be right. It wasn't until later that we found out what happened next. She confronted him in the hallway out of range of my door. She insisted that she may be new to looking at results and images, she was sure that something had looked wrong on my CAT scan. When she wasn't satisfied, she took it upon herself to contact my surgeon to ask for a consult. She explained that she knew he didn't accept Medicaid, but she really hoped he'd be willing to at least look at the film. He'd been unaware of his staff ignoring my pleas for his help since I was no longer on my mom's insurance. He came right away. After all, he'd literally had his hands inside my gut multiple times, so if something was amiss, he might be able to pick up on it. He agreed that something just didn't look right, though he couldn't put his finger on it either. He wanted to do exploratory surgery, but there was a problem. I'd been allowed to get in such bad shape, he feared I wouldn't survive being cut open. They would have to give me a transfusion of two units of blood and basically make me strong enough to handle the rigors of surgery. I remember only two fleeting images from that day. I'd never needed a transfusion before, so I suppose that's why I was so transfixed when watching the nurse set it up. I have a very clear image of the blood filled pouch of blood hanging from the top of the IV pole. The second memory is of my childhood friends, Chris and Chad, standing at the foot of my hospital bed. They looked as if they were seeing a ghost. I'd been in and out of hospital for YEARS, so they'd long since stopped coming to see me. This made their appearance stand out so vividly, I guess. (Again, later, I learned why they were there. I had called their grandmother to tell her goodbye because, "I don't think I'm going to make it this time." Even though it's been nearly 20 years, I'm fighting back tears at the recollection.) Before they could get me on the table in OR, my small intestines exploded. Not ruptured. Not tore. EXPLODED! My surgeon, a very experienced and admired doctor, said he'd never seen anything so bad in his entire career. He went on to say that it looked as if I'd swallowed a grenade. My previous surgeries, fully disclosed time and time again to the ER staff, had caused scar tissue to build up until it completely blocked off a small area of my intestines. I'd been showing all the classic signs and symptoms that entire time, but because of certain assumptions by the jaded ER staff, these signs were completely ignored. I was just a lower income white chick from a questionable neighborhood, so I MUST be a junkie. Forget the fact that it was THEM who automatically doped me up or that I NEVER asked for these drugs. Because of their incompetence, there are virtually no pain medications that help with my pain. My tolerance is over the moon! I live in pain daily, spending days at a time unable to even stand long enough to prepare food. The final insult? That surgeon wanted to testify on my behalf in a malpractice case, yet I couldn't get a SINGLE attorney to take my case. Now days, you see attorneys jumping to take on even the slightest hint of malpractice, but back then, no one wanted to go near those cases. I hate those doctors and nurses with every fiber of my being. I can only pray that Karma caught up with them.

I love these type of stories, this reminded me of when me and my dad and uncle were in New Jersey, we were in a nice fishing spot named "Green Lake" we were in the middle of the lake and out in the distance we saw a long silver snake fish thing, it's kind of hard to discribe, so it looked like a anoconda out of the second "Anaconda" movie, except it was a white silver color, with these long skinny fins touching it's sides, like some kind of mythology sea dragon, and it had a snake belly, a large snake belly, we didn't see its front, or its head, but when it went back we got a good look at its tale, but not good enough, it had a fish tale, but with like skinny tales on the sides of the fish tale, what ever it was, we might never know.. But ill make a skale of how big it was 0

When I was like 5 we went to Scotland, to where loch ness is and while me and my mum were sitting by the water after like 20 minutes we heard this huge splash and there was a massive ripple like 30 meters in front of us. I don't really remember it but she told me. Could have been ANYTHING and was probably a log or something, highly doubt it was anything like a creature but it's just creepy seeing as that's the place where the loch ness monster is supposed to be. Apparently she picked me up and departed pretty quick xD

OMG I am so scared of the dark I started wearing eye covers and there is a crack by the nose you can still see from and it makes me shift them so I don't have to see the dark. Also my cats fight in the dark so it's not comfortable hearing cats screeching.

I have trouble sleeping 'cause I have a bad habit of opening my eyes and looking around at night. So eye wear one too. I had to move the mask so I couldn't see so much that I had to improve it. I am also sort of afraid of the dark.

My fear is deff an open closet, not just doors but closet doors. I even have to close my daughters closet dokie every night, cuz its always always cracked open. She asked me why I did this one time and I answered, " it makes the room cool easier with the AC" not wanting to tell her the truth lol. There is something terrifying about the blackness and pit like features a dark closet can give off..

In my culture, we have a supernatural being called a sisulth (I'm unsure if that's the correct spelling though). It's a double headed sea monster. Recently I just learned that if you ever see it, you'll die the next day. My mom told me a story of someone who told her when he encountered it. I can't remember how he explained what it looked like, It was crawling up on the shore and he heard the rocks moving. before he could get a real good look at it, his dad turned him away from it saying not to look.
