I was always an earbuds guy. Small, easy to carry, just overall convenient. But I’ve had some medical issues because of the intrusive earbuds overtime. So now I’m trying to find the best headphones.

I personally find the bass coming from big headphones is bigger, silkier; therefore much more joyful than that coming from in-earphones. And again, the soundstage, the depth, and the effortless to produce full sound even at low volume... And again the comfort. So, when it comes to joyful music listening and movie watching, I would definitely choose headphones over earphones.

Headphone : -Sound good -more hearable sound -looks cool and comfortable. Earphone : -gave me ear infection once -hurts -sound outside is always overpowering the sound from the earphone.

The only reason earbuds are good is probably because you can share it with someone if you want to listen at the same time sharing the earbuds with each other

earbuds - fall out of your ears - gets sticky because of earwax and so nobody else but you can use your earbuds - earbuds are bad for your ears (look it up) - if you wanna become a gamer, you know you’ve got to get HEADPHONES

I don't know if this has been already said, but I also think that sound from in ear headphones at max volume starts tearing, but headsets sound won't tear no matter the volume

I own both headphones and earphones and i do agree with everything that Lew says except there's one thing that I'll always choose earphones over headphones. Everyday travel. Yes you may have a better experience with headphones, but they're so inconvenient compared to earphones. I'd rather have something that gives me pretty decent sound and I can throw into my pocket than a large item that gives good sound but I either have to take up space in my backpack or carry a case just for them. Also i like how low-profile earphones are in public.

Sennheiser HD800S' represent. Hurts to listen to dinky earbuds, and especially Beats headphones. Those Hifiman headphones are an absolute steal at that price. If anyone is on the fence, just get them.

My 5 reasons why earbuds are better: 1) Price. Generally cheaper than most headphones. 2) Portability. Could fit in a pocket, a bag, or just about anywhere. Doesn't take up much space or feel too heavy. 3) Mobility. Could wear them easily when doing sports like running or at the gym. 4) Calls. Most have a headset feature to pick up calls or adjust the volume on the fly without touching the phone. 5) Small Profile. Some people don't like to stand out, like if you're commuting. Provides a subtle listening experience.

They might be good, but any big headphones without a replaceable headphone cord is instantly a dealbreaker for me. I've had my studio headphones for many many years now and only had to replace the cord a few times after it got worn out, instead of spending hundreds of dollars for a new pair of headphones.

I prefer over-ear headphones over earphones, but one problem I often have when shopping for headphones is size; My head is too small for most headphones. Cheaper headphones often fit better for some reason.

I just got mine two days ago.. it took so long to be shipped .. but I'm finally enjoying them.. its mostly made of plastic but I guess the point in this guys was the listening experience.. I have never owned open back headphones before.. but to be honest I wish they have more volume but in general they are fantastic.

There's more reason too: 1. Prolonged use of in-ear headphones hurt your ear. 2. Typically Bluetooth on the ear headphones are truly Bluetooth sets. in ear still has a wire in it anyway. 3. The bigger headsets help not only to listen music but also act as a cushion to help you cover your ears in cold particularly in colder region of US. 4. They are difficult to lose. Unless, they are stolen because of their size. 5. We lose dear buds easily after regular use. The padding cannot be simply lost anyway. That was my review. People who reply to their own comments are so annoying

Regularly, earphones come with different attachments so there must be one which fits in your ear and doesn't fall out. Second, if you clean your ears sometimes, them earphones barely get waxy. Third, if you hear music extremely loud, than it might of course damage your ears but you can also turn the volume up of over ears. If you have good in ears, they will also produce very nice sound.

My 1983 superflex, the one made of clear plastic so you can actually see the speaker still smoke any earbuds I've ever tried. Yhey absolutely will not distort.

Im watchig this with some random 3$earbuds but idk if its just me but earphones have better sound quality. Headphones under 100$ dont have that sound quality as these 3$ earphones. So if ur lookif for sound quality and dont want to spend over 100$ for heaphones then earphones are solution

I get insanely sweaty when I use headphones. I can sleep with my high-quality earphones without breaking them.

I used to use earbuds only, they’d hurt constantly, they’d get all earwaxy and gross, and the sound quality - though I didn’t know it at the time - was absolute shit. About a year ago I tried using old headphones from a walkman. I was blown away at how comfy they felt, how much better the sound was, everything about them. Since then I’ve only spent money on an adapter to connect them to my phone. I use them for everything and I’d be hurt to see them break. Amazing how headphones worth about $20-25 now are way better quality than $160 dollar airpods. Now my friend’s got me a pair of wireless earbuds for my bday. I find them to be useless, so idk what the fuck to do.

To bad your not a little more serious reviewer, really wanted a real in dept review of these.. but i guess MD just want to sell as many units as they can, otherwise they would send them to like zeos from Z reviews or to tyll from innerfidelity.. truth is if one of them would recommend these headphones for the price i would buy at least 3 pairs as gifts. don't expect them to be a HE-560 planar's, but just very good for there price point. not gonna buy them like that don't care that they are only 100$.

I use my Audio Technica ATH M50x for gaming all the time. Bigger headphones are much better gaming, because the separation makes it a lot easier to hear where gunshots, footsteps explosions,etc are coming from.

I have the sony mdr xb 950 and they're $150 but i got them for $100 during christmas sales and they have 40mm drivers. I really love them.

I had an ear infection once due to my overused usage of earphones. Luckily I survived. Ever since then I always recommend to my friends to use headphones instead of earphones. Or at least don't overuse their earphones and clean their ears daily when they shower. Don't commit the same mistake as I have

What Lew said about adjustability and that hey are gonna fit better for more people is absolutely wrong, it's actually true for in ear headphones (as long as the person is comfortable with in ear in the first place). In ear headphones can fit all kinds of head size which is not true with full sized headphones (as a person with a big head I have experienced this a lot) and for in ear you can get all kinds of tips to get the best fit.

I can say one thing that why you should buy over the ear earphones. With in the ear earphones you can get early hearing loss thanks to them. With over the ear earphones you have lesser change of losing your hearing.

You should've added the health reason... Generally speaking every kind of headphone is really bad for your inner ear, but with over ear headphones the driver is further away from your ear and it has more air around to release all that energy, and if you have closed back headphones you need lower volume, meaning less pressure on your ear, meaning less harm, meaning you won't be deaf at 40 :) I myself own the ATH M50x and an AKG K-141, both around $130-180 and I couldn't be happier :)
