Hey Hank & Lola, nice to see both of you at Hamcation last weekend. Had a blast hanging out. I'm to that point where RV life looks very interesting to me. The mobile internet solutions of today and the whole work from home thing has really made it an easier reality than many years ago. I go back and forth between a camper van setup and a pull behind for something I'd like to purchase. I just need to pull the trigger and get something, get my years out of it and upgrade/change later. My goal is by 2023 I'll be able to buy a camper van & travel around the country & visit National Parks & cities I've always wanted to see. I might even visit my kids;)!! Sprinter camper vans are popular, because they have wordwide the same technic standard. Promaster and Transit have different chassis for their marked, for examble, the Transit is sold in europe only with a 2 liter diesel engine and you can get the all wheel drive version only with a manual 6 speed trans. They are no V6 gas engines in the promaster/ducato and transit outside of the usa and canada. Volkswagen offers their nice 4x4 Crafter not in north america so fare. Mercedes Sprinter diesel are everywere the same. With the modelyear 22 in europe and I think for north america in the model year 2023 mercedes downsize the sprinter diesel engines to 1,95 Liter and add a 9 speed auto. Many parts of the chassis are all new. The handling, the anti sway gets better. The 190 hp version for the 4x4 has a bit more power and thourgh. There is not more stopping for to go into low gear. The 9 speed auto has a add. 25% low gear reduction, everything goes now automatical. The camera and mbux system will be better, new is a front camera for down/uphill in the 4x4 versions. Gas milage and emissions will get better in the next generation sprinters. A better downhill modus is added, but it runs much over the brake system. Engine brake power is poorer as with the current 3 Liter V6. In europe, the ford transit is comming stronger into the rv marked. Many large manufactures like Thor/Hymer or knaus add transit rv and camper vans to their fleet, because mercedes and fiat/ducato-promaster have delivery problems. Last word, if I would live in the USA, the transit would be my favorit. ( I drive a 907 sprinter in germany)

Mercedes are good till the warranty runs out then parts and labor are very very expensive

What’s the next most popular Van? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the Ram Promaster because it’s the least expensive, the tallest and in the extended version; the longest.

144 wheelbase with 4x4, there are no other options than the Sprinter. Ford is close with AWD, but still not 4x4. I've heard MB is going to discontinue the 4x4 on the Sprinter and heading to AWD soon. You didn’t determine the wattage of the overhead microwave in the Cahaba van anything less than 900 W is unacceptable and unnecessarily small and under powered. It took some ingenuity but I fit a 900 W microwave in an overhead bin I designed and it doesn’t stick out any further than a 700 W microwave would without ingenuity
