I knew Esmeralda would be more threatening in this update! I was shocked to see that Esme got her defense growth increase despite her not being the regular tank, sure she equips defenses in her build but you can still go pure magic before and still do well. Unlike the ordinary tanks where going pure dmg would result in being squishy. Her mana also got buffed dammit, I can just buy mana necklace and play a bit more aggressive to trade blows with the enemy. Unlike before where I had to play more conservative to clear lanes and rotate to join team fights.

SHE'S GREAT, my heart always hurts especially if she's mentioned as a least picked hero but l manage to win a lot of games with her!

Instead of buying ice queen wand, you can buy thunder belt because of her skills low cooldown. You can always proc the slow effect of the thunder belt while being able to take damage to enemy tanky heroes.

You can also make a hybrid build Esme hence she’ll function as a bruiser hero like Paquito - tanky and painful. Especially if you already have a tank roam/jungle.

Saw this and then played 4 games with her. First 3 dominated the enemy. The last I tried her as a jungler and she was really good there too even against dyrroth jungle. Then the lag hit but we still won despite that. Play her right now she is really good

I recommend using Esmeralda as a pure mage because her damage is CRAZY and her durability while on her 1st skill is also crazy. If needed, build Dominance Ice on her for anti heal and Oracle for more shield.

Back in 2018 to 2019, she used to dominate the rank match together with Harrith

Her magical build is better than tank build and believe me, you will never use it again. Now with the buff on her defense stats and on magic crystal its even better. The magical build is: defense boots - magic or physical - enchanted talisman, even though shes not more mana dependent, ET still is necessary since u can achieve 40% cdr early, Starlium Scythe, Feather of Heaven and Magic Crystal, for the 6° item u can either go full damage with Blood Wings or defense like Dominance Ice or Oracle (In my opinion, Oracle is better since u will be benefited by both magic and physical defense and will "counter" the side effect of anti heal). Also, Dyrroth is not the COUNTER of Esme, he's just a hard opponent (especially if u use tank build since u won't have damage) but Terizla (against magic build) and Thamuz are definitely the real counters since their damage and slow will make your life as a Esme on XP a hell. If you are having trouble agaisnt Yu Zhong, just wait till level 2 and always stay close to him, his first skill deal more damage when you are in the corner of the skill, so if u stay "glued" to him, his damage will be lowered

I use esmeralda in full damage build as I found her more effective that way though. Valesmeralda is a great player using it for reference.

Esm is straight forward hero with shield abilities. I rarely play her cuz of how easy she is (I like playing difficult heros). I play her only when I want to rank up and most of the time it is sure won when esm exp.

Use sprint for bait, or purify for immune cc.

I am using her with the same build except instead of dominance i am building durance. Plus I am inserting blade armor if needed.

She is often pick now because alot of heroes are using shields. Angela and Harith for example.

Being an Esmeralda main this makes me really happy

She's always been my queen, just behind her nightmare called Lunox. Still a great pick because of how she can just ignore things with shield like the Aegis spell, she negates Flask of the Oasis' passive and help against healers while also absorbing each and every heroes who have shield in their skillset and they can't even buy Oracle because it'll just raise their shield so she can stay longer fighting against them. A tip for non-Esme players is also to avoid heroes with skills that you can easily miss if you don't predict enough since many Esme players (like me) usually like to be unpredictable. Also, if you want heroes for exp lane, go for the fast ones, like Yu Zhong and Cici, who can poke her safely and even buy Oracle so they can sustain better without creating shield, only spell vamp while having CD reduction and hibrid defense.

When Esmeralda received the nerf hammer I also felt that I'm out of the meta. LOL. I even deleted my ML. I'm excited to play again after the buff she received.

What is the combo of her skills for more shield? I want to try her

it's not a new found strength but just a fraction of her previous glory hahaha I can still vividly remember the terror she made when she was released. Her kit was so broken it took them years to balance her and free her from her perma ban status haha they even had to rework antiheal items coz of her. and ultimately they just decided to really nerf her a lot to free her from the ban list ahha alongside harith

I noticed that most RG MG players tend to use esme as full burst and not tanky one

I played Esmeralda last night due to the enemy picking Harith, I thought my esme gonna neutralize Harith at least. But holy cow she's even better than I thought. I literally 1vs5 them after the enemy Harith got a maniac, it tickles my belly just seeing how they're trying to kill me but my shield just overpowering them, and of course Savage is secured.

as an esme main,i wouldn't say dyrot is her counter its justs that early game dyrot is dominant and can make esme get her items slower which affects her gameplay but if u do play correctly u can dominate dyrot in 3-4 mins but terizla tho is a different question since esme doesnt do a lot of dmg in general,its hard to even get terizla low let alone kill him
