Mashallah I have discovered Sayid Ammar lectures a year ago, even though I was born a shia I have not discovered the religion and was not very educated about the Ahlul Bayt , Thank you so much for the lectures and for posting. Keep the love of Ahlul Bayt on going.

So glad that this topic is being addressed, as the message of Islam becomes increasingly spread and known across the globe in this age of information, it's increasingly important that we understand how to welcome and treat those who embrace Islam well. May Allah continue to bless this speaker. Lest we forget, Imam Ali (a.s.) was the FIRST male convert to Islam.

The reason why some of Ulama of Ahlus Sunnah say not to talk about certain issues is not because we're not confident in our position on certain issues but rather it is to avoid the masses from getting into strife. For example; when a Sunni reads what is said by the Shia about Abubakr or Omar or Aishah or Muawiya it will create hatred for Muslims from other schools...Because for us we love the Prophet (SAW) his family aswell as the Sahabah more than ourselves

What the shias do is mention what Quran, Hadith, and tareekh have mentioned about those particular sahaba. It is quite surreal to believe that all the sahaba without question were all good people. Even the sunni ulama know that that is not true but for some reason which I cannot understand, if anyone is known as a "sahaba" automatically that is a good and righteous person who must be respected and is not allowed to be criticized and is guaranteed paradise, etc. We look at the individual and see whether or not they have followed the Quran and sunnah or not. We judge based on Islam, not more not less. Thank you for being respectful. Usually ppl will call us kafir and all that...

Well said! As Dr Sayed Ammar Said, there is a 3rd category who revert to Islam through the Character and teaching of Islam, relating to that. I know 1 young brother roughly 17 years old who reverted to Islam 2 years ago in Muharram, but now it has been 2 years since he reverted and many times I notice that he is doing his clubbing as his pictures regularly posted on Facebook and doing what he 'normally' used to do. I also notice that he did not have enough knowledge about Islam when he reverted to Islam, as he was like around 15 years old, despite this, he had a Muslim friend who did the clubbing and prohibited behavior and looking at the Muslim brother's behaviour and not seeing the teachings of Ahlulbayt thought him, sadly it has left him with not knowing Ahlulbayt better and remain in his old habit.

+Mahmoud Shafik let's leave the curses out brother. Especially from those books which contain so much they tarnish islam. I'm pretty sure the prophet wouldn't say something spiteful like that, it probably came from a cruel caliphate of the time and added. So just smile ok buddy :))

+nas nai -- What "curses" do you refer to? - certainly not mine. As anyone who reads this comment thread can see, I have cursed NOBODY. Are you suggesting that SAHIH MUHAMMAD AL-BUKHARI - one of the greatest and best known of all Muslim scholars in the history of Islam tarnishes Islam - or that ABU ad-DARDA a much loved companion and kinsman of the prophet was a liar? This same AUTHENTIC hadith is also given by SAHIH MUSLIM AL-HIJJAJ and further discussed in TAFSEER by that most respected and authoritative classic Islamic scholar ISMAIL IBN KATHIR. It seems that you do not know very much and are also not too fond of the truth.
@a_gen

Greatest and best known of all musim scholars? Bukhari?? Haha!! Hilarious joke and about his companions there were many and Mr bukhari didn't put those, only what the caliphate of the time approved off. Hop off you high horse and stop being arrogant. You mentioned curse, not me, with those hadiths, which you claim are sahih along with your people, but not matter how many capitals you put, it doesn't make it actually authentic. It's funny how the prophet said many thing but you pick and choose what you want to listen to. Curse who you'd like while you smile in their face, but just remember the important hadiths ok, since they're so AUTHENTIC, the prophet said I leave the quran and my ahlul bayt, hold onto to these 2 and you will never go astray. Enjoy your reading buddy

When I converted to Sunni Islam from Christianity, I lost my friends and my family all except my mom, they all thought I was taken by shaytan ( Heaven forbid). I thought I had lost everything, but when I met the Alhulbayt I knew I found and gained everything. I am a minimalist by nature, but having them in my life, I don't want for anything. When a person has Allah, RusulAllah and his household in their lives...that person feels like a millionaire! That is the only way to explain it.

God bless you and have Mercy on you brother. As you know, all Jews and Christians were ordered to believe in, accept and follow the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad/ Ahmad, SAS, become Muslims and practice Islam as the ONLY correct Religion/ Way of Life, as Divinely Ordained in their own respective scriptures, the Torah and the Gospel. Just what are the Jews and other Christians waiting for if indeed they follow their Holy Books as they claim???

786. - And behold, a woman of Ca'naan, came out of the same coast's and cried unto him , saying, Have mercy on me,O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him , saying , send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said , I am not sent but unto the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel. Math. 15: 22- 24. These twelve Jesus sent forth , and commanded them , saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles , and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel. But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me , Whither goest thou ? But because I have said these things unto you , sorrow hath filled your heart. Nevertheless Tell you the truth ; It is expedient for you that I go away :: for if I go not away , the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart , I will send him unto you. And when he is come , he will reprove the world of sin , and of righteousness, and of judgement :Of sin , because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father ,and see me no more; Of judgement because the Prince of this World is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you but ye cannot bear them now. How be it when he , the Spirit of truth , is come, he will guide you into all truth : for he shall not speak of himself : but whatsoever he shall hear , that shall speak : and he will shew it unto you. John 16: 5- 14. .

The question you should be asking here: If he was a "rightly-guided" caliph, why did the Sahaba of the prophet (s)/the muslims of that time attack him? At the battle of the camel where Aisha, Talha and Zubair rallied an army to fight Imam Ali, why did they attack him if he was "rightly-guided"? That whole concept of rightly-guided caliphs came much much later and that alone should give you something to think about the Sunni sect. All what Imam Ali (as) wanted is to save the life of fellow muslims and to avoid unnecessary deaths. Imam Ali advised Uthman to not listen to Marwan ibn al-Hakam (who Uthman brought back even though the prophet banned him from Medina, just because he was his relative), yet he still listened to Marwan and that was the main cause of his death.

The narrations about the early Islamic community, the family of the prophet, and the scholars are important in that they show that Islam is a living religion rather than a bunch of dead images that can't be lived up to. Probably the worst sermon by a Muslim I ever heard was at the Saudi masjid in a nearby county. It was full of "You are a disbeliever, if___." Meritocracy has benefits that granting status merely because of birth or accomplishments of others in a family don't. What matters most in how we treat people is the beliefs and actions they display. Whatever they cal themselves, they deserve to be be respected and treated accordingly.

the reason the comanion Bilal stopped making prayer call, because he said I am the caller for the prophet and i don't have a desire for call after the death of the prophet peace be upon him, and went to sham to join muslim army. can dr. Nakshawany provide his references.

Bilal(RA) refused to give Adhaan because it used to remind him of the days of the Holy Prophet (SAW)... and he did try but it brought tears to his eyes... and it pained him very mich to live in medina for the very same reason (because of the reminders of the days of the prophet everywhere) and not because of the khilafah issues.... if you think that was the reason then how can you explain the fact he called the adhan in bayt al maqdis on the request of Omar (RA)

Gospel is defined by the teachings of prophet Jesus which is in the gospel, and we believe he's divine, he was born miraculously, he performed miracles and he will return on judgment day. It's not a different gospel at all, but now do we believe in the trinity? Well that's not in the 'gospel' either is it? And the scriptures are not in this translation completely because a lot we in aramaic. And what was the aramaic word for God? What did Jesus use for God? Alaha? Remember Allah and Alaha are older than "your" islam and have existed long before even the word God existed. Fact May we all be guided by Our Lord. Blessings

Hassan Ajmal Okay. Actually I am not used to this kinf of sadness. It's almost as if the Shia heart was afflicted by so much pain. Why this pain, whereas these holy people have passed away so long ago ? Why this obsession for the past, whereas the Shia tradition have flourished over the centuries ?

+John Smith I'm no Shia bro, but I'm guessing the mindset is like this. If our family member or loved one dies, we mourn, cry, grieve over them. The followers of Ahlul Bayt grieve for the household of Rasulullah because of the injustice of Karbala and the oppression the Shiite have faced over centuries.

+John Smith Dear john there is a big secret about this sadness and crying...it open's up the heart. speaking from medical/spiritual points of view am Adoctor and lover of ahlull el bait and speaking about myself i would not reached the very bits of what i have if would for them anyways. there are very few moments where the heart / barin may attach to certain topics.these moments of affection are mostly in the peak of sadness/fear ever heared when people suffer from losing of loved ones or near death events the feel that they have changed..grown up..got new idea...start wondering ..etc what am trying to say is not easy to understand but Hussin (a.s) is the very secret of our survival and God all mighty through him (those tears the sorrow and the sacrifice)) you really start to listen to the real thing..at that point u start to get the big picture thus we grew and survived the opression of years and our hearts are opened to the beauty of the right am sorry for it's along comment but you ve asked about very delicate and complex issue ;)
