The Zap Blast Knuckles' rubber coating eventually breaks down and oxidizes and starts to get sticky and tacky. I had to use a solvent to remove it down to the smooth, black plastic. Still works, though.

Gary Green ...I often think that as I would only carry something for self defence, but you know we would have everyone running around mugging each other and doing all kinds of wicked things if this was allowed over here, it's a shame for the good people, but the bad guys would have a field day. I think they should be legal to keep in your house, if a stranger comes in my house I assume they are here to kill me lol

AltaMirage get your facts straight before contradicting people.. Pepper spray or any incapacitant spray is an offensive weapon contrary to section 5 of the firearms act. So yes it is classed as a firearm in the UK.

For those of you who can carry legally here in the US If you are going to use a non lethal weapon you better have a lethal as a back up. Countless times cops have used tasers/pepper spray with little to no effect. Suspects were either amped up on drugs or dressed with thick clothing. Probes do not penetrate or fail to connect at the proper spread form each other to ensure a good enough jolt. That said, please ensure you get the proper training with these weapons. Stay safe/frosty out there folks. Its a crazy world were living in and its only getting crazier. Wishing all a safe holiday season/prosperous new year.!!

The problem with the claw device is, though painful, if someone is jacked on drugs or really pissed ofg, it's just going to pissed them off more. Better than nothing? Absolutely. But don't expect it to be a "stopper" of a tool. I'm ex military, trained many people in martial arts for street defense and women's defense and do encourage the use of gouging tools and weapons, this is just a warning to know the risks and limitations of this tool. The other tools are stopping tools. Different category.

My problem with these things is that facing someone with a gun, or a knife, or a club, I'd struggle. I think the knife is the ultimate self-defence weapon, after the gun. If thay're unarmed, then my disposable lighter makes as good a kubaton as anything else. Why would anyone deal with anything different. In fact I'd make a hierarchy - gun, knife, club. Beleive me, there are people out there who know how to use a gun, or a knife, or a club - going up against them with your half-arsed self-defence techniques will get you seriously injured or killed.

A knife is not really a self defense tool, more of a deterrent or first strike weapon, but really risky. To use it, you have to get close to the attacker. Knife vs knife fights almost always leave both severely wounded or dead, since it's hard to land a disabling blow, before the other guy gets a stab in. A long enough club (think baseball bat) beats a knife due to reach advantage, except when he is already in your face. And I would add pepper spray to the list above both knives an clubs. Proper Pepper spray can be effective from around 5 yards away from the target, even more if the attacker chases you and you spray behind you in their running path. Pepper spray packs a punch of 15 million scoville (the hottest peppers are around 3-5 million, and the scoville scale is not linear) that burns your skin like fire and forces your eyes to close, whether you want to or not ( check out tests on yt, that stuff is nasty). No attacker will be able to harm you, when he is temporarily blinded, no matter how coked up he is.

In this country if I had a bat or hockey stick in back of my car, and I happen to be stopped by police and I have no plausible excuse as to why I have them, I could potentially be arrested. Seriously all folk around the world wanting to come to the real life prison island of the UK, just don't, it really is shit here

tell ya what.. prohibited just means your not allowed... doesn't mean you cant have them. why I find bleeding hearts are the first ones to die in conflict, they actually think you can control someone to the point they arent allowed to defend themselves.. and this is why everyone should have them. Great video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you tried - Chireetler Dread Free Rule (do a search on google)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for learning self effective defence moves minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my friend at very last got astronomical success with it.

In that situation, I doubt the cops (if they're even called) are gonna ding you for protecting yourself. What is it they say? Forgiveness is easier to get than consent? Just deny knowing anything about it being illegal... you bought it for self protection and it worked. Cops usually don't ding you for that... unless you're in NYC where they want you to be a sheep.

It reminds me of the treatment i got in college days. My MBA batchmate taught me a painful lesson for teasing her. I always used to pull her hair. Once i pulled her hair hard as i always used to. She never used to get angry but that day got wild at me. Unfortunately for me that day she was having a long fat umbrella with a long n sharp tip at the end. She started chasing me wildly. I tried to escape but i slipped a bit and had to stop running to regain my balance. She caught me and gave me one hard whack on my bum with her umbrella. The sharp edge of the umbrella pierced my bum royally. I couldnt sit for two days. Kept rubbing my bum till i reached home. After that day i don't think i teased girls and women.

The problem with gadgets like these is people need to train with them to become proficient. They will most likely buy them and put them in a draw. A friend of mine bought 3 high end Berettas and went to the range once 3 years ago and has not touched them since. He doesn’t even know how to clean them.

The 2 shown resembling brass knuckles I think were bad ideas. They require the user be close enough to the attacker. Something you don't want as the attacker is likely larger/stronger. Don't want to put yourself (GF, wife, daughter) within range of the attacker. The MACE sprays sounds like the best ones. My question is how legal are they? Can a civilian use them and not later get prosecuted? Even if used in self-defence. No one talks about the AFTER. That even the attacker's family might end up taking the victim to court..claiming maybe excessive force..that the attacker was blinded or vision is now permanently impaired. Too many people get caught up in the "glamour" of the defence not considering what happens afterwards. Even if we're in the right. Odd no Stun Guns were mentioned....that fire a wire with a metal hook at the end.

A bunch of keys sticking out in between the fingers can be a poor mans or woman’s version, more importantly its legal to carry keys here in the 🇬🇧 UK 🇬🇧, the (what looks like) ninja’s claw looks like a severe reprimand if not some jail time over here. Let’s hope that no one will have to use them.👍
