@@JasminMiettunenI know I’m late. The answer is yes. I taught preschool triplets. Two of them were identical and the third was fraternal. It was fun quizzing the non identical one on who was who. I even turned them around to see if she could tell just based on hair. She was able to easily. She thought it was funny. They were really sweet kids and it was definitely a cool experience to work with them.

I once dated a guy who was a twin (albeit he was a fraternal twin, so he had a sister not an identical twin), but his mom also had a twin sister. and his grandma (his mom’s mom) was a twin. it was literally generational. one day while I was visiting his mom told me “when you two have kids you’re most likely going to have twins!” that was the beginning of the downfall of our relationship. i couldn’t fathom having 2 newborns to take care of, and it made me realize he would actually be a garbage father who would leave me to take care of 2 infants by myself. anyways that was a dodged bullet for sure. idk how on earth anyone manages to care for more than 1 child of the same age at once

Only fraternal twins are something that can be inherited, so if his grandma was identical then it wouldn’t have mattered. Also only women can produce twins because it’s either the egg splits like a freak of nature or the body releases two eggs. You basically ended a relationship over something you could have researched 😂

As a twin mom, it's hard but it's worth it. I've actually wished I had twins but I never imagined I would actually have twins. And some twins are easier than one baby (or so I've been told) so it really depends on the babies I think. But happy that you got out of that toxic relationship. On an unrelated note but more related to your comment, it sounds like having twins runs in HIS family yes, but fun fact, it's the mother's genes that matters when it comes to having twins not the father's. It's the woman that can release 2 eggs during a cycle instead of 1 that can both get fertized and then twins happen, so it only matters if the woman's mother had a twin and the grandmother also had one, because the multiple egg thing runs her family (female side) so it's likely that the woman also will have twins. Since his mother has twin boys though, that's where it stops because men can't release multiple eggs or get pregnant for that matter. That is of couse if those are her only kids and she doesn't have any daughters. Although if her twin sons have daughters, they do have a chance of having twins because they can carry the gene from their paternal grandmother. Like in the example you gave that his mother and her mother both had twins and were/are twins themselves. All this to say, if your own side of the family doesn't have a history of twins, you most likely won't have twins regardless of your partner's twins in his family. If you had a daughter with him though, she could've had a chance of having twins because of her paternal grandmother. Now, identical twins are another thing, because it happens randomly, one single fertilized egg that divides into two, no family history needed, so no one is safe from that but it's relatively rare, 0.3% of all pregnacies. Hope it makes sense, sorry for the lenghtly comment.
