As Always, these recipes are wonderful! The ham one I dice SPAM and brown with peppers and onions. One of my families favorites is basically adding Prepared Boxed Mac & Cheese, and canned chicken chicken Breast to Green Bean Casserole. So simple! 5 inexpensive ingredients. 1. Mac & Cheese 2. Green Beans 3. Cream o Mushroom Soup 4. Cooked Chunked Chicken Breast 5. French Fried Onions Bake as you would Green Bean Casserole.

Great ideas! This makes me nostalgic for my mom’s tuna casserole: box of Kraft Mac N Cheese, can of cream of celery soup, milk, can of tuna, and a can of peas. Cook the noodles and stir in the powdered cheese, milk (probably about 1/4 to 1/2 cup), cream of celery soup, drained tuna, and drained peas. One of those ‘don’t knock it until you try it’ recipes. Easy way to feed a lot of kids on a small budget.

I make a tuna casserole this same way, but use a can of cheddar cheese soup instead of the celery soup. I might just need to try it with the celery soup!

You can't take highly processed, high carb ingredients and turn them into "healthy". These are delicious complete meals, but not "healthy". I'm sure for many though, they could be healthier than other recipes they make, or fast food!

My 3 year old nephew is obsessed with broccoli. I’m going to make the chicken broccoli casserole for him the next time I go visit. I think he would be over the moon, especially because it looks like a recipe I can have him help with. We have a date to make chocolate covered pretzels and strawberries so we can make dinner for the family too

@@JuliaPacheco he chattered to me the other night over FaceTime for 15 minutes about his broccoli, how he loves it, how it makes him big and strong like Grandpa, how it was the best vegetable, how many different ways he likes to eat it, it was absolutely hilarious to see him so excited about his broccoli 🤣. He is just the best, I wish I didn’t live so far away from him. We have a few FaceTime calls every week but he breaks my heart when he asks auntie why you not here, where is Tennessee, when you coming home, I miss you and love you so so so SO much, where is cousin James, when is cousin James coming to see me, why do you live in Tennessee and I live here, why you not live here with my grampy or with me and my mom, can I come to Tennessee I be there in 5 minutes I promise. He’s very precocious and while he doesn’t understand the distance between Northern Michigan and Nashville he knows it’s super far and it’s a big deal when auntie and cousin James comes to visit. Bless my son (he’s 16) for being so patient and happy to hang out with his 3 year old cousin who idolizes his big cousin. With their age difference my son is more like his fun uncle than his cousin and treats him like his fun uncle. He takes him out on the ATV’s, he takes him to the playground, he builds sandcastles with him on the beach of Lake Michigan basically whatever my nephew wants my son obliges. It’s so cute when my nephew says when I get big I’m going to be just like cousin James.

In my childhood, we had a super tight food budget. My mama used to make a box of mac and cheese, stir in a can of tuna, and a can of peas. I loved it and would still eat it. When I was growing up, my dad's go-to quickie meal for us was mixing tuna fish, can of peas and Kraft. So I've always been a fan of stretching that box out. Thank you for some new ideas.
