The Sign I did in the video was the sign for "Help" ;)

Maybe a problem of the sing language in the world is that you have to learn for each countrie you are. I know brazilian sing language, called LIBRAS, but it is so different from ASL that i cant use it in games, unfortunately. But would be incredible to have a universal sing language in virtual reality like the one you show in the video, just imagine the inclusion and the community growth! But, incredible video, Matt! Honestly I found this video super interesting, and also really helpful. It's actually really interesting to see the changes to ASL to accommodate and work in VR and the limitations within it that we currently deal with. Also the covering of 'back-channeling' is great, and something that I always love seeing!

saw this video by reading the title as "5 simple things to start *singing* in vrchat" instead of signing 😅 but i stayed for the future knowledge of when i would encounter some one who would sign so i could at least know how to say like i'm new to signing even if i have done a small amount of signing (while not knowing fully sign language) when i was being mute most of the time back in 2018/2019 or so 😂

i am pretty fluent in asl and have been looking into learning it in vr and what the diffrences where but it relly acomodates to those who are normal questies and those who are index users ur video was really helpful thank you (^^)

I just ran across your videos and I have a person in vrchat who is deaf so with their help and this video, I am slowly getting better with Asl! Thank you!

I remember "H", "K", and "P" from a deaf person in VRChat... Basically it's like a K, the H is straight up, the k is diagonal upwards, and the p is diagonal downwards. Hope this can help you remember which way they go!

Thank you for the great tutorial! My very used, muscled labour hands have difficulty making some of those symbols. "i" really caused me a fair amount of pain as my outside knuckles started popping around the outside of my hand. Sigh.

This is quite fascinating. I found your video because I was wondering how VR signing gets around the hurdle of being unable to make certain signs with their fingers/thumb with current finger tracking.

Does vrchat use one universal sign language? It would be amazing to me if people from all cultures could connect with one sign language virtually and speak to each other when usually this would be impossible
