Another comparison video about one of my favorite builders, Stefan Sobell. These are five citterns/bouzoukis/octave mandolins of his from different eras played back to back (in the order of appearance):
1977 10 string cedar top cittern
1980s model large body cedar top octave mandolin
1990s small body 10 string cittern
1998 big body 23-in scale 10 string cittern
1998 big body long scale Cocobolo back and sides 10 string bouzouki
Also there are dogs in this video. It's probably good that smell-o-vision hasn't been invented

I canot afford a sobell , however I have two amazing Irish bouzouki, one a natural wood and a large pear shaped mando/ bouzouki sounding very similar, plus I can go on holiday with all the change 😂😂😂😂

Haha! Agreed. It's easily the most beautiful instrument I've ever put my hands on, although currently it's in second to top slot for favorite instruments to play, just after the big cocobolo Sobell

How easy would it be to tune one of these in 4th and use it? for Latin flavored music. I am thinking about the Puerto Rican Cuatro as an example

You definitely could! I've heard of people doing that, I haven't ever though but for sure
