Multi-wave, end-game stages (like multiplayer) have pushed skills like Pirate's feast to absolute meta. From there, purple orb, stock skills, etc. allow for more immediate damage at the ready. The more stocks, the better. For older/early game stages, ofc its not a big deal since enemies die with one skill stock. But now bosses are pushing 10-20+ million health. Let's look at Levi for an example. With a cap heavy build, I can dish out about 1.6 mil per s3. In this case, having 4 stocks of his s3 results in 4 x 1.6 mil dmg = 6.4 million total dmg in about 8 sec? (I'm guesstimating here). Vs his base amount of stocks being 2 x 1.6 mil = 3.2 mil dmg in 4 sec before depleting and needing to recharge thru whatever SCT regen strats you have available, all which take extra time. Therefore, it's simply a matter of saving time.
