I saw that many people are saying Caroline speaks too fast. So click on settings (the gear sign on top right of video). Then choose a slower setting. Helps a lot!!!

My take on this... you have a "messy" side of your brain and thoughts that are causing you to be out of control, depressed, anxious etc..(her helicopter story) and you have in your brain a "wisdom" side that you can use to regulate or take charge of those thoughts with. She said think of 3 things that are causing you issues and 1. Choose one of these issues/thoughts you want to change and focus on it. Recognize the signals. How do these thoughts make you feel. Emotionally, Physically, Mentally. Does it affect your behavior ? In other words focus on it (with wisdom) so you can recognize what needs to change and then Step 2. Visualize you are in charge of your thoughts and feelings, behavior etc... take charge of your "messy" thoughts and CHOOSE to think kind, wise, joyful thoughts to "clean " up your mind. Step 3. "Gather" your thoughts (her picking apples example). Again take charge of what you're thinking and choose the best thoughts just like you would choose the best apples if you were picking them. Step 4. Reflect on what thoughts make you feel healthy emotionally, physically, mentally etc... she said write it down (she said it's better to hand write it and not type it... I guess it helps release toxicity). Then Step 5. Think on the good. Meditate on what is good. On the thoughts that are making you feel healthy (she said it will change your brain patterns and cause you to be healthier and happier). Basically choose your thoughts and let it what you think on change you! Philippians 4:8 " ...whatever things are true.. noble..just...pure... lovely, whatever things are of good report... any virtue..anything praiseworthy ~Meditate on these things..." I hope this helps. Hopefully I got most of it right!!! ❤😊

I think i get the concept but to do the same thing every day I dont get that- you will just be reading what you wrote every day won't you?

@@janerowena4023 I think she means write down the thoughts that make you happy for that day. I don't know about you but I have different things that happen daily that could make me feel good or bad. I choose to think on the good things. You can find something good to think about every day (laughing with co workers, how cute your pet is, funny things a little child has done or said, how beautiful the sky looks etc..). Personally, I sing worship and praise songs and think about God's word and His love. Once you put your mind on what is good and what brings joy to you, it will change your thinking patterns. Also after you think the good things she said to read them out loud. Because speaking your good and joyful thoughts can change your whole life. Start doing this and you will alao notice a change in how you feel. Blessings to you!!! I pray for the Lord to help you and give you peace. 😊❤

I agree. I keep stopping the video and processing it slowly. She is a highly skilled and experienced scientist, we are not, and also depressed people think more slowly. She does acknowledge this at the end of the video. I found the summary in the comments to be very helpful. Perseverance is the key ❤

😊Really have appreciated Dr. Leaf! Reading the Bible and teachings of Jesus takes on a whole new meaning. Neuroscience is finally catching up. Science and the Bible are not at odds with each other. Life is better when we live as Jesus taught. It is as profound as it is pragmatic. Thank God for honest scientist. Amazing that Darwin could look as closely at nature and not be undone by the complexity of nature and come to the conclusion that we have design, and that design could NOT have been an accident out of some cosmic goo.

I know its been a while since this message came out? But I have a question for Dr.Leaf if she even reads them. I lost my 38 year old daughter September 24, 2021. Due to complications to delta Covid . I never in my mind have ever thought of losing a child. She was my first born and I was very young when I got married and pregnant with my daughter, only 21 years old. I have another child from my second child marriage a son born in 2001 . Yes my children are 18 years apart. I watch my daughter grow into a beautiful woman she was married for 16 years. They didn’t have any children. My daughter loved the Lord with all her soul, heart , and strength. For me since the day her husband call me and told me she was in the hospital breathing from a machine. I felt that wasn’t good I was the only one that would visit her daily for 19 days. Her husband had covid and wasn’t well enough too see her. The whole time I was there with her praying for a miracle. I suddenly felt deep in my spirit God was going to take her. She wasn’t responding to the machine or anything they gave her In fact, she had a heart week before 19 days were over. Bottom line is how too deal with all the emotions that are coming my way? Grieving is so painful and it takes all my strength. How do I deal with this? Yes, there a lot of people telling I will never be the same . Deal with it and move on in life . She was a pice of my soul I gave brith too. If you have any advice I would appreciate. Thank you have enjoyed your books. 🙏, Marina Therefore watching her suffer was hard on me but after her heart attack I lost hope I knew the Lord take her.

Oh Marina, I’m so sorry for your loss. I have one daughter also (only child) and I can’t imagine. I pray you find some comfort in knowing you will see her again and will rejoice for forever. It’s difficult to wait here in the meantime. Are you in a grief group at a church? My prayers are with you.

Dear Marina. I don't know what it is to lose a child but I am well acquainted with grief as my husband passed away recently after suffering a lot. There are a lot of emotions that come which in the natural seem impossible to deal with but I am finding that using Dr Leaf's teaching and following the Lord's guidance with praise and worship it is making these deep feelings of loss and pain more bearable. I hope this helps a little for you to move forwards. God bless you.

Thank you all of you that have reply I appreciated it all and your prayers. And just feel alone in my pain. And the shock that I will never speak to her again in this world blows my mind away. People except for you to be you again but they don’t understand a mothers loss . I pray and ask God for help where do I go from here ? Its to difficult for me to set through a grief group I get to emotionally. Anyway , just taking each day as it comes for know. Hugs for east one of you that have reach out. 💖
