The rising interest rate can surely control inflation, but won't prevent erosion of the eroding purchasing power of the US dollar. I have learnt my lesson this time. The banks can't be making money off my money, while inflation eats into it. I have set aside 650k to invest in the stock market now, since that keeps up with inflation, but I don't know how to get started.

A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

I agree, investing with the help of an advisor set me up for life. Retired with about $1.6m only in stock portfolio. I max out my 401k and have few properties. I worked very hard as a language tutor for 32 years, and my salary was over 100k annually. Supplementing my income with stocks and alternative investments helped me by far beat the retirement age of 65.

To understand AMSL, think of them as making the most advanced printers in the world that print nanometer sized patterns to make computer chips. Japan and China have tried to make competing 'printers' for decades and haven't even come close. A cooking analogy: ASML make the ovens, TSM are the chefs, and Nvidia, Apple, AMD, Qualcom make the recipes and provide the finished product to the customers.

BTC can disregard techincals when in a bull, did that in 2020 when it crossed previous ATH... stayed there a few weeks and continued pumping like crazy to 60k. Also, there is one constant... when around 90 on monthly RSI, the end is near. And don't expect crazy price targets of 500k... expect around 100k at most and be happy if there's more after that. If you believe big boys and CEO's of big invesment firms saying targets like 1M this cycle.. you deserve to be their exit liquidity..It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3B'tc to a decent 21B'tc in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Francine Duguay, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

ASML has the biggest moat in the world. It is the only company globally that produces EUV machines, which are required to build the smallest chips for the most advanced technologies, ranging from autonomous cars to AI. The only other two companies that remotely do the same thing are Nikon and Canon. However, both are years behind ASML. Essentially, what ASML does with photolithography is design the pattern and structure of a semiconductor chip. Every semiconductor company like Samsung, Intel, and TSMC has to use their machines. As mentioned above, they have a monopoly on this technology. In my opinion ASML and not Nvidia will become the best performing semiconductor stock in 30 years time.

The machines cost 500mil, they have no competition because they have the tech, seems like a good buy IMO, just waiting to see tomorrow morning.(ASML)

Has this guy's analyzer ever found a stock that was a buy? He sounds like Blockbuster when they passed on buying Netflix in 2000 for $50 million and today its worth $280 Billion a 560,000% return. Great companies will always look expensive.

In simple terms ASML makes very small engravings. You get limited by how small you can cut so they have to use water droples to focus the laser light into as small of a space as possible. They are the only company in the world that can make this machine that is required by TSMC, Nvidia etc. Its basically like buying the pick axe dealer in the american gold rush. Talks about how to make these cuts smaller include having to remove the effects of gravity, which, as you can imagine, isn't something you can set up currently with ease.

ASML is a monopoly. They make the most advanced machines that can make all modern chips. Currently they buy out home owners to expand their production. US prohibited ASML to sell their machines to China.

Actually, I did study this in college. A silicon wafer is exposed to chemicals to give the wafer certain properties. A substance called photo resist is then spun onto the wafer. The photo mask is then placed on the silicon wafer and it is exposed to light to create the circuits. The whole process is called photo lithography. There are both positive and negative photo resists that can be used and lights of different wavelengths to cause the reaction, but that is beyond the basics.

ASML makes the machines that create the circuitry pattern on chips. Each chip will have a different circuit pattern depending on its use case and the placement of these patterns has to be very precise. In simple terms, NVDA, AMD, and INTEL design chips, ASML makes the machines that allow for specific chip design, and TSMC actually manufactures the chips. It’s way more complex, but this is the simplest way to explain it. Based on the technology alone, I’d have to believe ASML has the largest MOAT in that semiconductor industry. As someone who’s been working in the industry for 15 years, I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if another company comes along and takes away NVDA market share . However, I’d be very surprised if another company comes along and disrupts ASML. Also, another point to consider is that almost 50% of NVDA revenue comes from 4 of the mag 7s. What’s stopping them from saying no to NVDA and investing in their own purpose built chips. I’m staying far away from NVDA and AMD just based on my experience working in that highly competitive industry.

C'mon Paul...you know Intel and that their free cash flow is lower because they're spending billions on new fabs. Same thing here. You need to look through the near term capital expenditure cycle.
