There is no way of fully rewarding all the brave men and women who risk their lives by serving overseas for our freedom and protection. Sadly, too many military veterans suffer in silence and are completely forgotten, and it looked like this was the case for Lou Zezoff. Lou was an elderly Navy veteran and he and his wife Annette stopped at the restaurant for dinner that day. As they ordered their meals, he couldn't help but notice a table of younger guys nearby. The young men were teenagers or young adults, ranging in age from 18 to 19. Lou did not think much of it until the guys swarmed his table one by one, repeatedly disrupting his meal. Soon, their conduct caught the attention of the entire restaurant. Then this happened.

My husband couldn’t serve cause he had one leg longer than the other. But our friends and family were in the military. I was shocked when They came home and were treated. When I ignored the stupids who treated them badly and took up for them our friends told me it’s ok. Just let it go. I did as they asked but when I saw or heard anyone treat them bad I fussed about it. And dared anyone to keep it up.

I've received rude comments about my 'US Army Veteran' cap. I simply tell them, "I wear this to meet others who have served" and II don't care that it offends a few morons. I served during Vietnam, and was to serve there but my orders were changed at the last minute to a remote an isolated research base. I was an Engineer for AFRTS. A few months later we received the bullet hole ridden remains of the TV transmitter for spare parts. The engineers on duty had been killed and I could have been there and on duty that day so I refuse the wear the caps that mention Vietnam. I eave that recognition to those who were stationed there. Not that my duty wasn't dangerous, but it wasn't in a war zone. May God Bless all who willing served our nation!

As tears flow down my face i am so appreciative of this story....i will never forget as it is a treasure. i learned from my father who was a ww ll seabee veteran the value of being blessed as an American on US soil.sir...thank you for protection but regretfully your suffering endured through all that you went through in service... my father always had tears as he viewed pictures of war.if people would only listen to your story and what I am about to say...all of you who are blessed to be in America should NEVER forget it's our military is why you are living in the once free america.you liberals, politicians, air head college kids have stolen our rights and freedoms from us,yourself and future generations... your soon pay back is near... for your failure to believe in america... Resulting from the DISABLED VETS on our streets who get no help, those who gave their LIFE for you, those who SERVE and HAVE SERVED have enabled you to live the American dream is only because of the true military men and women that you have turned your back on... the real HEROS.

Thank you, my English Forces friend. I had the privilege of working with your guys on some joint operations in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. I retired as a crusty, old Warrant officer. working together.

Thanks to all the wonderful people and comments, as a 20yr retired navy veteran I also appreciate the thanks I receive when I am out in the stores. But remember there are still over 58,000 that didn't come home yet. So lets not only thank a vet but rember, ALL GAVE SOME, SOME GAVE ALL.
