Hi Thiago, I've been studying for 10 months, investing 6 hours a day. Despite having a pretty decent level, I think the most difficult challenge is being able to "think on your feet" and speak fluently because it requires quick thinking and fluidity. However, I hope to achieve a C1 level by the end of this year. Greetings.

I've started learning English language 1 year ago and I wasn't able to express something at that time. Unbelievably I got my free speaking skill in 5 months and I didn't stop doing that. I used to learn and divide time on it. I paid attention to learn key and an essential grammar rules and maintained them with new words. And I think that, I learnt English language because of I was worry about it and my anxieties helped me to be able to learn successfully

Obrigado, Thiago. Thank you very much!

Hola Thiago.

Traducido con Gemini: Dear Thiago, It is a pleasure to greet you. I will take the liberty of making a comment about your excellent and timely dissertation in Spanish, my mother tongue. I fully agree with you that learning a language is not an easy task, that it cannot be solved in a very short time, and that it demands patience, dedication and a lot of perseverance. I am far from that longed-for port of 5 years, but I try to row every day to shorten that significant distance. I consider a good and rewarding conversation to be one in which two people sit down to talk, (I imagine a fast and excellent game of ping pong where you hit the ball and it is quickly returned to you). I mean by this that I want to learn English "not to get by at an airport, a store, a café... but to have conversations that allow me to discover the essence of the other person and the universe that shines within them, in an intelligent way... I don't want the long silences that can be generated after "What's your name" "where are you from" that can kill a conversation just as it begins. Immensely grateful for your time and for the broad vision with which you animated your presentation.

While listening, I noticed you said it takes at least 5 years to become fluent in English. In your opinion, how many hours per day should one study to achieve fluency at least in 5 years?
@teacher.thiagoalencar
@teacher.thiagoalencar 5 күн бұрын
If possible, I would suggest one hour per day. But more important than that, you need to find something that is sustainable for you. Ask yourself: What is a comfortable amount of time for me that I can keep for the next few years? Also remember that you should vary your studies so you practice all the main skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.

🎯 Key points for quick navigation: Exposure to English over a significant period of time is necessary for fluency. Developing patience is crucial as fluency takes years, not months. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and embracing discomfort is essential for growth in English learning. Curiosity about the language and being inquisitive leads to discovering new ways to learn and practice English. Being proactive by taking action in anticipation of challenges is key to successful English learning. Being proactive as an English learner involves taking action, being curious, and not waiting for external solutions. Actively observe English in your surroundings, such as billboards, and wonder about the language. Utilize the resources you have available to you for language learning, rather than making excuses about what you lack. To become fluent in English, focus on constant exposure, patience, pushing your limits, curiosity, and proactive actions. Made with HARPA AI
