You compare a street naked to a dirt bike. Brilliant!

Adjust your clutch cable, if you give it more freeplay, you can move the engagement point in. I also did not like how far out it engaged, but it's good now.

Good review! I have had mine for 6months and 3000km and I agree with all those points (except the clutch - I think it’s ok). Having said that, I have the quick shifter and I recommend that to everyone! My main issue is that I keep getting neutral at stops which is a pain when you want to go!

Thanks for the input, I haven't quite ran into issues as far as neutrals at stop go, could it be maybe the quick shifter could just need an adjustment? Let me know if you've resolved this!

After doing a month and a half of research mostly on You Tube, I just bought a 2021 Kawasaki ZX6R 650 twin. It solves all the problems you are talking about. The seat is very comfortable for longer rides. The ergonomics are just about perfect. The power is delicious from down low to top end. The slipper clutch is inoffensive and is not really noticeable and it wins in the looks department. I myself like how quiet it is especially in the neighborhood.

Totally agree on the seat. I remember seeing one in person for the first time and absolutely falling in love with it's aesthetics. As soon as I sat on it, I got a free vasectomy so that kinda killed it for me :)

Good review. I've had the same problem with the seat but you can get some custom made one's ; it cost around 300 euros. I'd imagine it would possible to find the same kind of deal over there.

I'm about to buy the cb650r, from what I've found every motorcycle you buy you'll be wishing your bike could do xyz. Hence why im upgrading from the ninja 400 (im a bigger rider) after one year, hoping the cb650r will last me a few years

Interesting. Have you thought about getting a windscreen? Puig makes a semi fairing windscreen that is gorgeous and functional. As a normal wind screen that’s cheaper

Get a bagster comfort seat. Looks stylish af and is very comfy, can even get custom colored stitching, and has a “cb650r” stitched into it

Definitely get aftermarket levers so your clutch will have adjustable reach. I chose Pazzo Racing levers. You can then bring that grab point in where it belongs. I have the CB650F; much the same bike in most respects. Being an inline 4, you have to twist the throttle more when you're down low, but the benefits of the inline 4 make up for that missing low end torque, for me anyway. The torque curve on this bike though; well at least my 650F is fairly flat so the torque in low to mid is not that far off the twins. Mine will pull decently in 6th at 4,000 rpm. I believe the 650R has a different curve due to the extra 4 HP they wrangled out it. From what I hear that caused a dip in torque in the lower mid range. The F model doesn't have a dip. I'm rambling , LOL Enjoy your bike. I love mine :-)

Idk man seems like you were disappointed by the engine type, in-line fours do have torque and HP higher in the rpm range, is just how it is, and compared to a dirt bike, well there is no point in that, got that bike and so far loving it

I saw on sc project page and you have a exhaust that gives you 3 NM of torque and 1 hp and of course the sound of a GP bike😉

hey man, just wanted to know how the bike was for you, im thinking of buying one as well and noticed that you come from a wr450 as well as i do. How is the power difference?
@MyroonMedia
@MyroonMedia Жыл бұрын
I ended up selling it a while ago and ended up getting back into dirtbikes! Don't expect it to be a torque monster (unless you're getting the 1000cc) cause it makes all its power in the top end.
@vintagerealityvr
@vintagerealityvr 3 жыл бұрын
Agree and disagree with your points. This bike has a torque curve that's pretty linear so you're getting a decent amount of torque down low ( but it does peak at 8k rpms, a bit high, but like you said it's what you expect out of an inline 4). Clutch lever is easily adjustable. The seat sucks after 2 hours of riding but for a city commuting it does the job. I've had this bike for a year now and I absolutely love it, The only thing I don't like and isnt fixable with tune or an exhaust is the dip and torque between 4-6k rpms. The bike just has a power dip there - If you look at people's Dyno pulls After they tuned this bike that torque dip is still present. That's my biggest nitpick about the bike otherwise I love it!
@MyroonMedia
@MyroonMedia 3 жыл бұрын
I notice that dip too. I know Yammienoob did an exhaust with a power commander and they were saying "it definitely feels different" but it would be nice to know whether or not it actually does something before spending the big bucks.

Would you buy it again knowing what you don’t like about it? If not, what would you buy?
@MyroonMedia
@MyroonMedia 4 жыл бұрын
I would probably yes. So far the bike has been nothing less than fantastic to ride. Honda put a lot of effort into this one so the build quality is really nice. If anything I would probably have gone with the bigger brother the CB1000R just because now i want more power.. Still makes me smile every time though!

Doubt it, inline 4's are revvy engines which I don't really like, but you can't deny it sounds so cool shame you have to wring the life of it to get it moving.
