Don't hate your car, when it hasn't done anything wrong. Where do we start ?? You can easily change the setting of your radio so it doesn't come on automatically. Hit "Settings", scroll down and select "System", and finally set "Ignition Logic" to "Off". Sorted 👍 Your MAF sensor is perfectly fine. Correct idle RPM is 650 RPM. You don't actually adjust the idle speed, the ECU is doing so for you. But the ECU is not happy with the missing air box and aftermarket air filter, so your idle get messed up. GM did not design the boot lock to work in such an awkward way. It is usually working very smooth, and same key as the ignition/doors. Looks like an earlier owner has repaired the lock with incorrect parts. The gear knob is not supposed to be glued on. It's pressed firmly onto the stick, but can be pulled off, just pull straight up. Be careful, there's a little spring inside, which easily fly away and get lost. There is no spare part available if you lose that spring. That's probably the reason your gear knob has been glued on. Someone pulled the knob off, lost the spring, and realised he would have to buy a new £180 shifter. So he bodged a fix with another spring, but that meant he had to glue it all back together. -But as you seemingly are alright without the reverse safety lock, you can easily fit any aftermarket stick. It's straightforward to modify the safety mechanism so that it is completely disabled. The Corsa C is a cracking little car 👍

If you pull the gear knob off there is a spring underneath. If you take the spring out you don't need to pull the collar up to change into reverse

the inside light switch witch you can't put into always off mode and the horn witch is difficult to find and only works at full blast, my wife has a Opel Agila B and these two features are much better.

I drive an Opel Corsa C z12XE and here is what I can say: #5 - don't know the issue, doesn't happen in my car at all. The radio remembers that it's been turned of or one after reignition. I have a different radio model in my car, however, so it might be the reason for that. #4 - Yep. Getting into the back seat is a b**ch in a 3-door version. No questions about that one. #3 - again - I don't have a problem with that lock in my Corsa C. Put the key in: horizontal is open, vertical is closed, pressing the nub opens it up. Don't usually use the key, since my version has a central lock and the only situations I manually lock anything is when I pull out the battery. #2 - Now I see you've got a mod there, with that cone filter, but what might be the cause of the bad idle problem is a dirty throttle. You might want to remove the air intake, unscrew the throttle and clean the butterfly valve and the canal from any dirt and carbon. Afterword, you should force the ECU to reset its values for the throttle, by removing the negative clamp for 10 min (while leaving the positive on) and then reataching it, turning the key to on and waiting for the ECU to calibrate. You'll hear a wheezing and squeaking sound from where the throttle is, which is fine. The you can start the car and see if the idle stabilises. Don't forget to set the time, date and radio code after the reset. #1 - Can't say much about that one, except that in the 6th gear solution that you proposed, a mistake during a 5-to-4 change might end with a money shift. Having commented on all that, I think I'll add that what annoys me personally about this car is the placement of the car's battery right under the windowsill drainage grate. Weather it's a rainy day or you're just washing your car, there'll be water pouring directly onto your car battery - by design.

Lol your corsa doesn't have electric central locks? Mine just opens fine everytime I press the key switch.

FYI , the 1.7 CDTI / Z17DTH version of the Corsa C uses the F23 gearbox which is a 5-speed manual and the reverse gear is where 6th gear would normally be.

if you leave the boot lock in a certain direction it opens with the remote fob when the passenger door opens, although you might want to lock it with the key if anything valuable is in there and you have a passenger.
