neither. Don't buy a Ducati unless you will not ride it a lot or love to wrench. Get a Ninja or Gixxer.

I'm thinking of getting the 959. How tall are you. The comfort seat puts you at least 1cm higher again. I'm 5' 7", & it's all ready a stretch on the stock seat. You can get a better heat shield for these & there are ways to cool down the engine permanently. You can find out about those fixes & more at Jared Campisi channel. He fully costomised a 959.

Thanks for checking out the channel and the video. I am 5'10". As have ridden many Ducati sport bikes they are just not comfy at all opposed to others in its segment. Oh well. Thanks for the tips on the engine stuff. Good luck with your decision on your new bike.

I am currently trying to decide between a 2017 959 or a 2017 cbr1000rr and I just cant make up my mind. I have a fz07 that I use for commuting so the bike will mainly be for the weekend fun and track days. All my friends and fellow riders are basically split on the decision as well. What input do you have?

If you want to look pretty get the Ducati, if you don’t want any problems, get the Honda. Choose wisely!

mausypwns98 I’ve owned both...I just bought a second 959 (Corse, this time). Not to be an elitists, but there’s just something about owning a Ducati. I never had that feeling on my Honda’s.

@@freedomoftheride6885 Yea I went a rhode a 959 and kinda ruled it out for now but will definitely own one in the future or a v4. I am currently deciding between a cbr1000rr and really just looking for a 2015+ s1000rr at this point as I test drove one and absolutely loved it.

Nice review. I’m thinking my next bike, but the heat problems are putting me off. Hopefully the 2019 model addresses this, but doubt it.

Any v twin with have this issue. It’s not a friendly street bike. Don’t get caught up in looks. You will regret it.

Definitely not a bike to ride in shorts, but it’s very manageable on a suit. Jeans are bearable!

The seat sucks for what: street or track? What people like with a set of jeans zipping around vs. full leathers & hanging off makes me ask the question.
