This video made so proud of my 2000 Grand Vitara. I named it the Snow Bunny because one year we had so much snow here in Texas, and I was passing all these stranded trucks with the 4 wheel drive. It did so well and super fun in the snow. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻

The only engine issue I have had is the timing chain tensioner rattle. I believe it was a common issue with the 2.5L. Suzuki issued a tsb for it. I installed a new timing set including tensioner, guides and chains. That was about 60k miles ago. It’s at 240k now. So far going strong 💪

Their junk, mine hasn't started yet but with 290k and burning a ton of oil it'll be a matter of time, I just got tired of putting oil in it so I'm waiting for it to blow so I can have an excuse to k20a2 turbo swap it for triple the power that junk v6 can put out, mines auto and was told they never came manual in 02 so a 6spd will take the place. Best advice I was told was swap the Suzuki junk for reliable Honda power, best advice yet.

95 Tracker and I can get a whopping 150 per tank. Bone stock 1.6 liter 16 Valve with a 5 speed. I do have some digger tires that are 10 inches wide buy 30 inch and wagon wheels. I've heard others getting 300 per tank on the same rig. I have new wheel bearings and no breaks dragging. Alignment is straight. I'm going to clean the egr valve next round. I know it's not that aerodynamic lol. But man 150 miles between fill ups sucks! But I dig my Tracker4x4!

Jimnybits in UK do a rear mechanical locker for like $150 if you are going to remove the vacuum operated front diff actuator you will need to weld the diff closed for ideas on lift kits look at Jimnybits uk one issue withe front diff is the right side drive shaft actually runs on the oil seal so I have a nylon bush behind the oil seel to support it and you will have to put camber adjusting bolt in the strut to get your alignment right

My v6 gets average 23 26 mpg which is fantastic compared to my ranger I traded for it, I hate my Vitara because the v6 in 02 only came automatic and it sucks I'd much prefer a 5spd manual. I hate that mine the 4x4 blew out and front differential grenaded, I agree that with no aftermarket support especially the first gen grand Vitara/ gen 2 tracker it sucks and custom parts will need built. I have nothing good to say about mine and I'm turning mine into a race truck since nothing works on it, after I find a Honda civic to daily lol. Will be k20a2 and 6spd swapping mine for power and performance and dropping it down as well as 2wd swapping, that's the plan if I keep the junk.

So what’s the consensus on the viability of a gen 2 (vintage 03/04) GV/Tracker in 2021? I’m looking for a light weight flat tow option to pull behind an RV that will be boondocked in BLM land and parks. I’d rather put a few $$$$ in something like this than drop $30k on a Jeep.
